New owner. Just not the same anymore. I’ve been going here for years and sadly will never again. Chocolate chip mint had basically no chips and no mint flavor. Poor quality unfriendly service and higher prices. The old owner took pride in the product, made it feel like a family business and was creative in their offerings. This new owner is obviously there just to give as little as possible for as much as possible. No quality. No service. Dear new owner, please realize that people can go anywhere for ice cream and what you have is not different or special. Quality, service, price, plus adding some creativity (i.e. Christmas Advent box that the old owners did last year) is what sets you apart. If you are showing a lower transaction count vs LY, maybe you should look inward.

I’ve been ordering Fudgie the whale from Carvel in West Caldwell for every family birthday for over 15 years. Absolutely delicious! Sometimes we get extra crunchies, fudge or all vanilla ice cream for an additional reasonable cost. Kirsten and Karen as well as their staff have always gone above and beyond to provide excellent customer service. I ordered a special fudgie last week for a birthday and was surprised to pay a whopping $10 more than usual for the same cake and it wasn’t done correctly. I figured maybe it was some kind of mistake and didn’t have time to address. Today I picked up another fudgie that I ordered in advance with the same $10 additional charge. I asked if it was the correct charge and was told yes. I asked if Kirsten was still there and was told no. Now THAT explains it! I understand that regular price increases are to be expected over the years but in my opinion this is an outrageous increase without notice. Kirsten, Karen… please come back or tell me where you are so I can change my place of business for Fudgie who has become an extra member of our family. This review is 3 not 5 stars strictly due to the surprise cost increase not the product.

The reason for 2 stars when I went to pay the sign says $4.49 for a small cone and on the register it rang up $4.99. When I questioned it my answer was yeah sorry that that happened before they have to fix the sign. Bad business practice

We don’t generally visit Carvel except when we are in the area. I tried to order sundae, asked the cashier to help point to sundaes and when it came to billing they just charge full price and say it’s not sundaes

Yikes! One of us ordered a small, and it appeared less than child sized. The soft serve was barely above the cone...The server asked if that was enough ice cream or if I wanted more? She said the machine came out like that? This was a very strange experience, and we will not be back. The poor server was the only one working while two others were on a computer right there...with a line behind us...

Always delicious. I would highly recommend ordering a freshly made ice cream cake. Totally a different experience than picking up a frozen cake @ supermarket for not that much more. They need minimum 24 hrs notice 4 ice cream to set. Can also customize. I prefer no whip cream & instead get fudge & crunchies. Always fresh & delicious 😋

The quality of the ice cream is very consistent, we have only had a few off times. But, always varying amounts. The girl who was filling the ice cream this evening was way off. Purchased 4 large sundaes but each one only had enough to fill maybe a medium cup.

This is not a luxury store, but it has top customer service quality and reasonable prices. We felt very welcomed when first step in the store, staffs patiently awaiting for us to settle down and get familiar with menu, answer questions with smile. It has a lot of options to choose from, flavors, sizes, standardized or bespoke etc.
