It is a little out of the way but they have good coffee/lattes and vegan breakfast items. The bagels are just store bought Lender’s but they were not bad. They use Violife cream cheese and it was good on the bagel. The cashier seemed annoyed. Maybe because it was 90 degrees and humid and it was hot inside.
Popped in for an afternoon snack and was so pleased to find a vegan crumb cake (tres leches) and a vegan blueberry muffin. I had the tres leches and it was great! The couple next to me said they frequent often and that their breakfast sandwiches are amazing. They offer vegan eggs, bacon, cheese, cream cheese, and milk alternatives! Update: went in the morning for breakfast and can confirm the breakfast sandwich is great! Also had the vegan blueberry muffin and it was AMAZINGGG Updated from previous review on 2025-05-24
Such a great little place hidden away. The coffee menu is quite impressive, the baked goods are huge and tasty, and the staff is lots of fun. Well worth the trip.

I have been anxious about going out and trying new places on my own. I stopped by here on a lively Sunday morning to do some homework. What I stumbled upon was a comfortable, safe atmosphere with a variety of wonderful options. My coffee was delicious, my breakfast sandwich was fresh, hot and well-balanced. I loved the music they played, the people that all seemed so sweet and the little kids running around and having fun! I will definitely be coming here again in the near future to do some work. Thank you for a great first time experience. :)

10/10 best coffee, not just in Cape May but in general. We always go multiple times in a weekend when we’re up!
We love this cute coffee shop! I try to visit every time that I am home visiting my parents. Their seasonal drinks are always delicious. I especially love that I can build my own vegan breakfast sandwich! They also have great local gifts available for purchase. And the customer service is always wonderful as well :)

This is a very nice coffee shop run by very nice people and a place you should gladly support. They always offer gluten free bread for sandwiches and at least one gluten free pastry, as well as many non-gluten pastries.

Cute little spot, very friendly and great service. Prices were quite fair. Coffee was a bit on the roasted side for me but I get that’s just a personal preference. Bagel sandwich was quite solid, maybe slightly over toasted. Overall quite pleasant. My only real issue was no bathroom for customers which seemed like an odd choice for a good-sized coffee shop.

My fiancé and i stopped at Ostara's prior to leaving back to Maryland. I was thoroughly impressed by the cozy atmosphere and friendly staff. The coffee was expertly brewed, with rich flavors and a perfect balance that made each sip delightful. I also loved their selection of delicious food including the Bacon egg and cheese which was absolutely wonderful. I wanted to add that I accidentally left my purse at this coffee shop. I called to let them know and they sent it to me with no hesitation, not to mention my engagement ring was in there along with my apple watch which they sent back. I wanted to take a moment to acknowledge Ostara's employees (Vicky is one of them!) for remarkable honesty and kindness. It's inspiring to witness how they prioritized integrity and empathy in their interactions, making a positive impact. Thank you for being such a wonderful example of these admirable qualities and for showing it through this wonderful place. I HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend this place and I had the pleasure of trying the white chocolate cherry latte which was to DIE for. So if you are in Cape May and LOVE coffee and great food, do not skip on this place!!!

I ordered their pumpkin spice latte ("Misery") as a treat to celebrate autumn, and it was perfectly balanced in its sweetness and pumpkin flavoring. It was a bit more expensive (just over $5) but I'm happy to support this independent coffee place. Also, I must add how I appreciated their Pride flag, which signaled to me that I was in a safe space. Thank you!

What a local treasure, I wish I could pick this coffee house up and move it to my home town of Wildwood Crest! The coffee is so fresh and always served with a smile.
