Saravana Bhavan has always been my go-to restaurant. I always visit the Edison location. I had a not so great experience at Princeton Saravana Bhavan few months back.
I was willing to give This Saravana Bhavan another chance.
It was advertised as a location under new management. The staff were cordial, service was great.

The foods that you can never-go-wrong (Idly, Dosa, Poori and vada) are good. These can be prepared at home too and have a comparable taste.
However ordered Kothu Parota and Kaima Idly, both were prepared like a pasta in a sauce. Really!!
I believe this location is under new management and still employees the same cheff with very basic skills. Felt really bad to have come to this location with family. While the same dishes are made to perfection at Edison Saravana Bhavan.

The taste of Sambar is also not good. Please get your basics right!! Will certainly not recommend this location for any dishes other than Idly and Dosa!!

Always happy to visit a Sarvana Bhavan! We ordered Mysore masala dosa, south Indian Thali, a plate of idlis and a plate of mini idlis. All were fantastic!
We also enjoyed the masala chai and the kids loved mango lassi.

This is the best ever meals we had ever had in NJ and NY trip. I would highly suggest and recommend this place. I would give this places a ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ five stars.

We came here 2 years ago and it was really good but good quality has def gone down. Poori masala and dosa was the best. The thaali was good, but some items were lacking in flavor and some salt as well. Overall service was amazing, gracious and polite hosts. Still highly recommend.

Food is good and area is very convenient. Recommend for regular south indian food specially dosas 👍🏼. However, wish the management would try to add more new items to the menu and also upgrade the ambiance.

I love this place and used to go there multiple times a month. But they lost me at $9 rasam, and it is an Indian size katori not an american bowl.
Shrinkflation is real guys. But you can either do inflation or shrinkflation, not both, just sayin as a fan.

The dosas here are huge and delicious! This is our new go-to place whenever we want dosas!

Sorry but I don't think this is a real Saravana Bhavan. The food tastes nowhere like the other restaurants of the same franchise that I have tried in India, UAE & France. The dosa was very disappointing and so was the sambhar. One would expect to get authentic South Indian food in NJ but I have had much better Dosa in Canada. Also, no one served me water at the table which is the basic at any Indian restaurant.

The amount of coconut chutney and sambar they deliver with the food is ridiculous. They should at least provide an option to order extra chutney or allow customers to add comments to the order. I ordered one combo and one rava dosa — the least they could do is include two portions of chutney and two of sambar to accompany the dishes.

recently had dinner with my wife at your restaurant. While the food and service were excellent and left us with no complaints, I was extremely disappointed by the condition of the men’s restroom. It was unhygienic and poorly maintained — rusted fixtures and an unsightly cleaning brush left out in the open. I can’t speak for the women’s restroom, but based on what I saw, no conscientious guest would feel comfortable using the facilities. Management, please take a serious look at the attached photo and address this issue. It’s unacceptable for a place with such great dining standards to overlook basic cleanliness.

Tried their bonda, vada, puri, rava masala dosa, and Gobi 65. Everything was really tasty! If you’re craving Indian breakfast or tiffins, this place is worth trying. Feels like home food.
