My husband chose Chowder House. This was the 2nd visit. The 1st- food was ok but the service was excellent.l so it warranted another visit. There was a wait tonight so we decided to sit at the bar. My food was lukewarm at best but his was hot. I guess mine (Chicken Oscar) was sitting as his (fish n chips) was being prepared. The chicken & asparagus were ok but the mashed potatoes were subpar. He enjoyed his meal. The bar service started out good. When bartender #2 took over, #1 never returned although another patron was told they worked together. We were never checked on and it was annoying to have keep having to hunt her down for condiments, etc. I really don’t have reason at this time to return.

We are from central Delaware. This is our 2nd visit. We will be back. The food is phenomenal. I had the best steak ever. My wife said the risotto was also the best with the shrimp and scallops It all was cooked to perfection. I very highly recommend this restaurant. 20 out of 10 stars
I usually don`t bother writing reviews, but because of our latest experience I felt compelled. There were seven of us in our party, including two 10 year old children. We were cerebrating my wife`s 75th birthday. The wait staff did not know it was her birthday (that`s the way my wife wanted it) she wanted to keep it hush, hush and no fuss. All our dinners were all excellent and nice generous portions. Overall it was a pleasant experience, and even though the establishment was packed , we were never rushed right down to the delicious deserts. I was also surprised when I received the bill, I honestly expected it to be much higher, especially because of the large portions and the high quality of the food. We plan on going there more often with friends. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anybody I know. Take my word for it please try it.

We enjoyed our meal immensely, and Damien was a great server. Timing of the courses was excellent, and everything was delicious. Staff was friendly. Off the top of my head, I cannot think of anything I'd want changed.
