We have been going to Caffe Anello since it was a small venue without a liquor license. It used to be a good experience and a good value...sadly, that is no longer the case. Why? Here are the details of our dinner (for 4) last night: After being seated (by owner Joe Napoletano who makes a point of remembering your name), we could tell right away our waiter had no idea what he was doing, since he didn't know the difference between a Martini and a Margarita. When we asked what kind of vodka was available for a martini, he had to check twice before we got an answer. It was also very difficult to understand a word he said. That's Ok, we said, we'll give him the benefit of the doubt. We ordered 2 starters- the Meatballs (fan favorite) and the Garlic Shrimp. After about 15 mins, the starters came, but no drinks. Meatballs were good, shrimp was OK. After asking (twice) for the drinks, they finally came out after another 10 minutes (the starters were eaten by then). I ordered a dry Ketel One martini up with olives. Before I took a sip, I knew it was off b/c I could smell the vermouth. We thought it best to involve Joe at this point, who took the original and replaced it with another one. Unfortunately, the result was the same - a martini with a massive amount of vermouth. What kind of bartender doesn't know the meaning of "dry"? (obviously the Caffe Anello bartender....since "dry" means a whisper of vermouth, if any). When it was clear I didn't like the 2nd attempt, Joe actually looked irritated. So I just kept it since I was giving up at this point. The mains we had were the wild salmon (x2), the dirty pork chop and the NY strip. The waiter messed up our side dishes, but by now we actually expected that. The wild salmon was uninspiring (was it really "wild caught"? Of course the waiter had no idea) as was the NY strip. Dirty pork chop was decent. The best course was the dessert - a Reese's choco pie (very good). And what was the bill for 2 starters, 4 mains, and 5 drinks (4 cocktails and a glass of red wine)? $280 without tip. Poor service, uninspired food/drinks and $70/person? Not a winning formula, and sadly our days of going here are over.

I heard wonderful things about this place so my fiance and I decided to go out for a date night to see if this would be a good spot for our rehearsal dinner.
The dinner, the drinks and dessert was PERFECT
We were so pleased that we booked our rehearsal dinner that night. We look forward to that day as well as many future date nights ! Thanks to Johnny the owner for accommodating us and the entire staff for excellent service.
What a great atmosphere and what lovely people. Very personable. The food was really just perfect. Delicious. Very authentic and homemade.
My wife and I recently held our daughters baptism reception at Cafe Anello. From booking the location to the final moments of the party Chef Johnny and his team made sure to make the experience as easy and enjoyable as possible. The venue itself makes you feel like you're at home, their food was delicious, and drinks were some of the best we've had. My only regret was not going here sooner! I grew up in with a heavy italian background and have high expectations in regard to italian dishes. This was far exceeded with each plate that came out. All the while their pricing is more than fair for everything they do and supply.

this is my absolute "go-to" place - always welcomed with a smile - the servers are pleasant and accommodating without being overbearing; they allow you to enjoy your experience and still stay on top of everything - and the food, the food, is simply fabulous and very high quality and always delicious - a truly overall wonderful experience; every time!

Wonderful local restaurant with good food & good service. The owner welcomed us & later, both he & a chef stopped by our table to visit with us - he remembered all of our names & there were six of us. Four of us had Branzino with a side of sautéed Broccoli Rabe that was excellent and my husband had chicken Francese & he said that was very good also. We were sonewhat full after the meal, so three of us shared a large piece of strawberry shortcake that was excellent - very light & fresh. I'm sure we'll go back.

Was there for a private party. I've seen rave reviews for this restaurant but I don't think a family-style dinner is fair to judge from. If I dine here another time on my own, I'll update my review.
