I haven't been here since high school and I know they did a major face-lift so I wanted to check it out. The dining room atmosphere was pleasant looking with very dim lighting and rustic decor. The menu is a tad pricey but food presentation is lovely. The totchos and pretzel appetizers were excellent, but a bit salty. The classic burger and veggie burger (falafel) were good but also quite salty. As the dining room filled up, it became very, very hot and stuffy - so much that another patron asked them to open one of the side doors to let in fresh air. There were also suddenly a lot of different tables of screaming kids in the Sun night dinner rush - it was so loud in the echoing dining area, it sounded like a Chuck E Cheese and we suddenly couldn't wait to get our check. The seating was a bit uncomfortable with all of us stating it separately to each other after we left. The servers were very friendly and attentive, but as the dining room got crowded we had to wait quite a bit to check out. Overall, it was ok.

The face lift that was given to the Iron Horse is really good! The backroom is still kind of sparse, but the food is greatly improved! Love the new additions to the menu. the wait staff as always, was great.
An eventually tired, emblematic restaurant in the area with a recent, much needed facelift, we were all looking forward to giving it a try. A new “fancy” name and a paint job doesn’t automatically grant the right to charge $18 for a burger. Food was uninspired and unimpressive. Our disinterested server did several disappearing acts. Disappointed to say the least. Too bad.

The place from the outside is very inviting and we were told they are pretty famous. Being from south Jersey never heard of the iron horse so figure give it a try. Walk inside on Saturday and get seated immediately. Unfortunately it being 94 degrees outside it wasn't much cooler inside. But figured we'd suck it up. Appetizer pretzel and beer cheese - beer cheese looked and tasted like microwaved Velveta, Entree husband ordered a medium rare burger and a side of onion rings. Burger was well done. Onion rings were greasy over fried rings of dough. I

This is a magnificent restaurant, and it’s only going to continue prospering. Would absolutely suggest the iron horse if you’d love a fresh warm meal with a beverage, a relaxing weekend at the bar area, and the deserts are spectacular. Bring your children along to enjoy, the menu also shifts as more things are being included. Will definitely be visiting again.

The food was good and the servers were attentive but the visit was disappointing. Gone are everything that made the old Iron Horse worth the drive. The menu is very limited and a little pricey. Most of the railroad memorabilia is gone and it's very sterile. There's nothing wrong with the place but there's nothing here worth going out of your way for. If you live in Westwood I recommend it, but if you have to drive more than 5 minutes to get here, there are plenty of equally good places near you because this reincarnation isn't worth any extended trip.
