A Hidden Gem in Wharton That Keeps Getting Better!

This evening we had a truly wonderful dinner at Reno’s Pizzeria and Restaurant in Wharton, NJ. From start to finish, everything about our visit was top-notch. Our server, Shirley, was incredibly attentive—friendly, prompt, and made sure we had everything we needed without ever feeling rushed. What really stood out, though, was that Reno himself came by to check in and ensure we were enjoying our evening. It’s not every day you see that level of care and pride from an owner, and it absolutely elevated the experience.

We started with two fantastic appetizers—the eggplant rollatini and little neck clams in marinara sauce. Both were delicious, fresh, and beautifully prepared. For entrees, we chose the mahi mahi in mango sauce special and the shrimp scampi over linguini. Each dish was cooked to perfection and seasoned just right. Compliments to the chef—truly excellent work in the kitchen!

We ended our meal on a sweet note with the mini cannolis, which were perfectly crispy and bursting with flavor.

Although Reno’s (formerly Maria’s) has been a staple in town for some time, their recent expansion into a charming sit-down dining area has added so much to the local dining scene. It’s cozy, welcoming, and a perfect spot for a relaxed and satisfying dinner. Reno’s is a real asset to Wharton, and we’ll definitely be back! (PS It's BYOB!)

The steak was delicious, perfectly cooked. Meatballs for the appetizer were so mouth-watering. Was not impressed with the cheese steak sandwiches.

The chicken parm and meat lovers pie were absolutely horrible. I like the little garden salad you got with your meal not the rabbit food I had to pay extra for!!!!! Never again.

Prices used to be decent before the renovation. Now $20 for a large pepperoni is a bit much. $45 not including a $4 tip for large pizza 6 wings and 6 knots for delivery is very high in price. Always missing side sauces that i ordered. Believe I'll have to find a new pizza place.

This review is coming from a local family who have been ordering from Maria’s/Reno’s for 10 years. Since the renovation started the service has gone out the window. First occasion, I ordered dinner for my family and it took almost 2 and a half hours to get the delivery. When I called, they told me the new computer system didn’t print in the kitchen. I had to call 4 times before they told me it was on its way. Second and third occasion, we get our orders delivered and the orders were wrong. Forth occasion, pizza got delivered and it was cold, almost as if they took it off the rack and never warmed it up. Each time I called to let them know the order was wrong and they blamed me. Telling me that’s what I ordered.
This evening, I returned the wrong order personally. While waiting for my order, I asked for 2 desserts, which I ordered and paid for in front of the owner.
Once my corrected order came out the owner tells me, “next time you order, let them know you have a credit”.
The nerve, he saw me order something else and didn’t offer the credit until I was leaving.
Long story short, the service is no longer worth it. We have a million other options.
The food is okay, pizza is expensive, and the appreciation for their customers is not there.

Felt it was over priced, 3 slices and 2 personal sodas bottles $25 is absurd in my mind. It’s was a stuff slice which was unique but nothing special.

That was absolutely the best tasting Eggplant Rollatini I have ever had, I could drink that sauce.

We have been going to Reno's since 2005. (wow, time flies!) My husband and I have NEVER gotten anything we didn't LOVE! The restaurant addition is looking amazing & we are wishing you a future full of success and prosperity.

These guys are putting a lot into their business. New name and new dining room coming.

Lg plain pizza. Delicious crust. One of the best around. Creamy cheese, not rubbery at all and not greasy. Sauce is tangy and seasoned well but has a garlic powder flavor. Delicious pizza. Fresh. 3.5/5. I would definitely recommend.

Lg Chic Cutlet sub. I custom ordered, fresh mozzarella, roasted peppers and arugula. Hot, fresh chicken cutlet. Delicious, tender, well seasoned cutlets. Good bread. Huge size. Very fresh!! 4.5/5. Order this if you go.

I ordered over the phone. She was very helpful and courteous. She went out of her way to make sure they could accommodate my sandwich order. 5/5

Delivery. The delivery guy had a thermal bag and the food was hot and fresh. 5/5

Best cannoli around. Pizza and subs were on point but the Cannoli really blew me away. It’s the best we had in the area and barely runner up to one of the best in Little Italy NYC. Staff was friendly and accommodating. When I return to the area, I will definitely return Reno’s (formerly Maria’s)

Great little spot we came across after shopping at Costco. Currently undergoing a renovation, but service and food were excellent. Quick service, friendly staff. Worth a stop. Got a fantastic panini and calzone. Prices very reasonable. Great carrot cake.

Been getting pizza here forever absolutely love there pies, everyone has always been nice to me. Sometimes it takes time not the fastest place ever but they take there time to make quality food and you can taste it!!
