From the moment you valet your car to the moment you leave everything is first class. We shared a salad, I had the pork chop with cherry peppers. It melted in my mouth. My wife had short ribs and they were great as well. Cappuccino and dessert was amazing as well. Love this place.
Food and service was exceptional. Our waitress was friendly and thorough in explaining the specials of the night. I had such a wonderful time that I've already made another reservation to celebrate my sisters birthday in a few weeks.
Great evening - updated, warm and welcoming setting, cheerful, knowledgeable staff, terrific food, and a pretty good wine list. It also was nice to see just about every patron dressed nicely - women in dresses and at least half the men in a sport coat. Favorites last night included cacio e pepe, a caesar salad prepared table side, and the dover sole and veal specials — all of it was delicious. Marques, our server, was friendly, attentive and informed.
This place was recommended to us by a local. We weren't disappointed. The ambiance was beautiful, the staff was excellent, (especially our server Sarah), and the food was delicious. Definitely order the table side Ceasar Salad. Super yummy! The wine list was excellent as were the cocktails. We have nothing bad to say about Il Capriccio. A definite “must try”. You'll go back again! I'm
IL Capric is hands down the BEST restaurant! They set the bar high in every area; service, food, ambiance. Sal, Nicko and their entire team go above and beyond to provide an exceptional experience!! During our most recent visit we had Sarah as our server and she was top notch!
This is my favorite restaurant so we celebrated our 51st anniversary here despite being an hour away. Jorge, our waiter, greeted me warmly (I was a frequent lunch customer for many years until I retired) and remembered me. The appetizers were amazing followed by the best Caesar salad I ever head. It was prepared fresh by Jorge. Then I had pasta with fish which was a wonderful dish. I have to mention the bread from Calandra's is so delicious and fresh. As a topper, Jorge brought our desert and all the staff sang Happy Anniversary! What a night. This is the best place in NJ. Thank you Jorge and the rest of the staff for making the evening memorable . Tom B

Wonderful ambiance and atmosphere! Good service and relaxing time. My wife had the lamb chops which were good but not the over the top great we had expected for $62. That was about $20 overpriced. I had the tagliatelle Bolognese which was good and flavorful but the portion was underwhelming for the $34 they were charging. That was $10 overpriced. The bread was uncharacteristically cold, which I never expected for a high caliber restaurant like this (and who touts they make everything in house), and the butter was hard, and obviously hard to spread. Surprisingly, there was no focaccia or Italian breadsticks as is customary with most high-end Italian restaurants. The cocktails we had we very sweet. I asked our server what bourbons you are serving with your cocktails, and she mentioned Bulliet and Maker's Mark. I never expected bottom shelf bourbon from this very expensive place. As a bourbon enthusiast, at a minimum they should have had Knob Creek 9 (100 proof $36 bottle) or Elijah Craig Small Batch (94 proof $29). Having said this, my cocktail was overly sweet and bourbon proof (90 for Maker's and Bulleit) was way too low to cut through the sweetness of the ingredients and balance the cocktail. Though we had good service, and the decor was beautiful, the misses with the portion size, expensive dishes, cold bread, and cocktail miss, unfortunately this will be a one and done for us. I did over tip ($130 for a $220 overpriced meal). Instead of $350 all in, this experience was worth $250 all in. We did expect the server to come back and acknowledge the extraordinary tip we left, and at a minimum thank us, and perhaps offer another drink.
Amazing food and excellent service. This place rivals the best New York City restaurants. The food was executed flawlessly, and our server was attentive and friendly without being pretentious.
Outstanding! Authentic Italian cuisine. Terrific service. Delicious food. It was my birthday and all the waiters sang Happy Birthday! The piano man added to the ambience and enjoyment.

After many many years of enjoying Il Capriccio, this most recent dinner was disappointing. The room is still one of the most beautiful in the tristate area. The cocktails were excellent, however, the cuisine took an unfortunate nose dive. The chef seemed to avoid using any salt at all. The bread basket came at limp and at room temperature. We had to mention that the stuffed sole special was dead on arrival, dry and flavorless. The caesar salad, though properly prepared, was severely over-dressed. The bottarga pasta was actually not bad, though we couldn't match the flavor profiles with what we ordered. Our server took the special off the bill but apparently made up for it by charging $30 for a single glass of wine!! Sad to say, it's just not worth the severely steep price point......we won't be going back anytime soon.
To get the, mildly, negatives out of the way, the restaurant is relatively expensive for NJ restaurants. It was also noisy, but less for the acoustics, than the fact that it was fully booked with a boisterous crowd, clearly enjoying the evening. Turning to the clearly positive, the food, we all agreed, was excellent, from branzino to veak shanks to skirt steak. The service was impeccable -- attentive, prompt, but not rushed, and pleasant. So, if you're willing to spend some money, it's a great choice, especially for a special occasion, which was enjoyed by many that evening.
Been coming here for 30 years. Celebrated my birthday with my girlfriend and we shared the seafood salad, orchiette with broccoli rabe and sausage and then the wild shrimp. All three were excellent. Service was as usual at a high standard. Best restaurant in NJ. And my girlfriend treated. ?
This is great place for a classic Italian cuisine. The staff was well aware of their offerings and they have an impressive wine list. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Focus Areas : It was too hot inside. For a restaurant demanding 'jackets' as dress code, it needs to be way cooler. Also, the staff needs to NOT hover around guests giving them some privacy for discussions (the reservation was marked Business meal, so the message would be clear). I remember at least 4 times when the attention bordered on interference.
Our reservation was for 8:30 but table was ready at 8:54 - they could have called or at least a text. They bought candle and dessert for one guest who was celebrating their birthday but for no such luck for us.
