This place is an absolute gem. The restaurant is stylish, warm, and inviting. The food was absolutely delicious, clearly made with care and high-quality ingredients. While there wasn’t a veggie burger option on the menu, we mentioned it to our server, who shared the feedback with Pete, the owner. Pete personally came over and surprised us with two incredible off-menu dishes made for vegans and vegetarians.
It was a thoughtful gesture that turned an already great experience into something exceptional. We were told these new dishes will likely be added to the menu in the future, which shows how much they care about feedback and inclusivity.
Hope the new ownership doesnt change the service.
New ownership. Food was delicious . Service was great. Will definitely be back.
Excellent place to visit! Food was great and the patio seating is beautiful. Best part was the service. Friendly, helpful and all around just very kind. We had some confusion with our food orders getting mixed up with test orders of some new menu items and it was handled very well. Special shout-out to our server, Jenna, who was so sweet and kind.
We had an amazing experience at Gus’ Last Word. The space is wide open with a clean layout and a great atmosphere. It has a relaxed and modern vibe that works well whether you’re coming for lunch or a casual dinner with friends.
We started with the corn dip and the calamari and both appetizers were on point. The corn dip was creamy with a nice kick and the calamari was crispy and flavorful without being greasy.
I ordered the angus burger and it was hands down one of the best burgers I’ve had in the area. Perfectly cooked with fresh toppings and that buttery bun that just seals the deal. We also had pizza and other burgers at the table and everything looked and tasted great. Fries were golden and crispy just how they should be.
The drinks were another highlight. I tried the house IPA with a hint of orange and it was refreshing and unique. The bar itself is well stocked and the cocktail setup looks like they take their mixology seriously.
The service was excellent. Every staff member we interacted with was friendly and attentive. From the moment we walked in until we left we felt well taken care of.
If you are in the area and looking for a solid spot with great food, drinks, and top notch service, Gus’ Last Word is definitely worth checking out.
We walked in with a group of 10 on a Friday evening and really enjoyed ourselves. We were sat without a hassle and our server was friendly. All the foods we ordered were delicious! The cocktails did their job too! Very happy to have stumbled upon Guy’s while in NJ.
Just had an amazing dinner. Looking forward to the new menu!
Excited to see where the new ownership take this awesome place. Previous owners changed everything that was good. Thank god they sold it.
Highly recommend Gus’ Last Word. This neighborhood establishment is cozy and chic at the same time. It is a perfect balance of retro and modern vibes. I was comforted by yummy chicken pot pie and unique cocktails. It has a lovely bar, with lounge areas, dining section and outdoor space. Shout out to the chefs, Christian the bartender and delightful Erin who provided great welcome, informed explanations of beverages and food, and great service. I will be back.
Went for the christmas pop up event, and it was great! The decorations added a comfy Christmas feel. We went late, and the bar was packed. Only had apps, but everything was good.

Food was below average. My friend got the cheeseburger and I got the bison burger. I’m not sure if they thought smothering the burger in sauce would cover up the fact that the burger was bland and tasteless, it was just not good. We also ordered the popcorn chicken as an appetizer which was just average, it took a very long time to come to our table. There were tables who came in after us who got their appetizer long before we did, extremely frustrating. Additionally, my friend has a severe nut allergy and a lot of the drinks that did not say “contains nuts” on the menu did in fact have nuts in them.
Service was also below par. Our waitress, Jenna R., never really came to check in on us and we barely saw her throughout the night. It’s like she did not care about her tables. She did not even realize the table next to us never got their menus and when they told her, she wasn’t even the one to bring them their menus. She did not even apologize to them. We noticed how attentive the other waitresses were at this restaurant and it’s unfortunate the level of service was not the same from her. Fortunately, I believe the guy who was the manager came and apologized to us for the long wait, which is why I am giving them 2 stars instead of 1 star. Don’t let the Christmas themed restaurant/bar fool you, it’s just not worth it. I will not be returning.

Really good food and drinks, however, despite closing at 1am on saturdays there was this guy who seemed to be security who started to ask us to leave and got to a point where he yelled to everyone “I wasn’t clear, but it’s lights out” at 12:20.
