Stumbled across Charlie's while visiting family in Oerth Amboy and really glad I did! Charlie's is a small spot in a strip mall that had about 30 orders when I arrived, with the phone still ringing like crazy. After my breakfast, I can see why. The bagel had a nice chewy texture and was packed with 3 perfectly cooked slice of pork roll. My grandparents also really enjoyed their bacon egg and cheese sandwiches. The guy at the counter was really nice and helpful. The place was ridiculously busy, but extremely efficient. Definitely recommend calling ahead on a Sunday!

The bagels were great. Best bagel I've had in a long time. Would have got 5 stars if I would have gotten a hello back any of the 8 different times I greeted the people working there. I literally said hello two two women and 3 different men and none of them said anything back to me. Not a hello how can I help you nothing ! Not even a you're welcome after I THANKED THEM. A smile goes a long way , not even a smirk.

If only I could leave zero stars. But if I have to rate the gentle older lady that works there she would get more stars. I placed an order for a toasted buttered roll (it's a NY thing if you know you know). When I attempted to pay via ApplePay the guy said there was a $5.00 minimum. I apologized profusely but I said there were no signs. You should post it. There's a huge sign stating a price increase. He says there is an ATM at the end of the parking lot. Now it's important to note I didn't walk in with cash but I always keep a few dollors for emergencies in the car. However, before I could say anything else the buyer grabbed the order and the electronic payment device off the counter and started to yell. It happened too fast I was Confused, I said I could get the money from the car why are you telling me? He was so nasty and so disrespectful I said for $2.00 to lose 3 questions. Don't support this business the owner's attitude is awful.

If I could give this place a ZERO I would. I called in this morning and ordered a Turkey BLT. She ask if I wanted it as a club and I said yes but I want turkey bacon lettuce tomato and mayo. I received a club sandwich with cold cut turkey and regular bacon. I called and said i received the incorrect sandwich. The lady who answered the call said, " Ill have you speak to the owner", I explained and he said, "I will have you speak to the person who took your order". I explained my order, she insisted she gave me the correct order. I told her this is not what I wanted. She put in a order for the correct sandwich. Upon arrival, the owner began to ring it up and told me that the 3 workers confirmed my order and I need to pay for the sandwich. One person took my order and I'm sure the call was not on speaker. The owner was very nasty and be came a bit hostile. He also tried to over charge me on the original order and was very annoyed when i called him out on it. I was referred by a coworker last year and began ordering from time to time. I will be sure to let the staff here knows how discussing and rude the service here is. The steal from there customers by over charging and the owner is racist.

Shady !!! Food was 4$ more than what it was supposed to be. I won’t be going back. After reading comments it seems to be the owners typical routine to overcharge people, when I questioned him he was rude and said “nobody works for free “ . They don’t print receipts and seem to always overcharge , what a coincidence.
