I’m so happy I found a real Puerto Rican restaurant near me! My first time experience was great. The food definitely tastes authentic and very close to how my family cooks. We ordered their carne guisada dish, empanadas (“pastelillos”), shrimp mofongo, and last but not least it least, flan! Que Rico! Totally coming back and bringing my family when they come visit.

This was our first visit to Surrender Cafe and I really enjoyed the food. The empanadas (beef) were delicious, not too heavy, nice crust, great flavors. I was going to order 2 appetizers, but the server showed me that one of the appetizers was also available as an entre (Canoa Rellena) and I followed her suggestion - LOVED it! I was also impressed that during our meal another customer was seated and it seemed that our server knew exactly what he wanted - I think it's great to know your 'regulars'. I'll be returning!

My girlfriend and I went to Surrender Café on Mother's Day, and we had a great time. The Puerto Rican food was amazing—full of flavor and cooked just right. Everyone in our group really enjoyed their meals. The service was friendly and helpful, and the staff made sure we were comfortable. Prices were fair, especially considering how good the food was. It's also nice that they have free parking, and you can bring your own drinks since it's BYOB. Overall, it was a great experience, and we'll definitely be going back. If you're in the mood for tasty Puerto Rican food in a chill spot, this place is worth checking out.

Alejandra was exceptionally friendly and helpful. We had the pernil burrito and the pernil sandwich. Both so delicious and generous portions. Empanadas to start that were fresh and crispy. Sauces are fantastic, especially the red sauce! We had meant to meet a family member from PA “half way” but dates were confused so family member never came but it was worth the drive from CT!!

This only means they cooked a cheap quality meat early in the day and just reheated it along the way. My wife ordered the Jibarito sandwich same deal. The Tostones were good. Our first time and not disappointed. The food was like my mom's. Delicious. Our server was accommodating to our needs and advised to try their carrot cake. It melted in our mouth. Will come again and bring friends. The only disappointment was I couldn't get up and dance!
