This was our first time eating at this place and sad to say definitely our last. We have been going to this Chinese place for years and when we called to place an order it was unknown to us that they were under new management until we pulled up to pick up our order. So, it was too late to cancel. We did have a red flag when placing the order the person who answered was not good at taking our order and had to repeat several times and she still got our order wrong once picked up. Then, we let them know the order was wrong and had to wait for them to cook the rest of our order that we paid for that they failed to include in our order, so it took another 15 plus minutes while the rest of the order sat and got cold..The shrimp fried rice was not good all, it was not authentic Chinese rice in our opinion. The shrimp was the smallest shrimp (salad shrimp) we have ever seen and the pork rice had the smallest pieces of pork that I have ever seen and there was barely any pork or shrimp, we had to put a flash light over rice to find some shrimp and pork. We also asked for extra onions and beans sprouts which they did not put in the rice.. but charged us for them. The chicken wings were ok but not pleasing to the eye at all. They also don't have pint size containers which is strange and not what we are used to seeing. After, waiting for them to fix the rest of our food that was their error, they didn't even apologize for having the rest of our food get cold and for a ridiculously long time we had to wait for the mistake..Please be warned about this place. It's not the same Tokyo place😔😞🤮🤢 Never again!!!!

Ordered take out, over $100 spent, and the most bland food I have ever tasted. Have been eating here for a very long time and I’m so disappointed with the changes. Sushi is not fresh, white rice didnt even taste right, and egg rolls are awful. Will be looking for a new place to order.

Food is absolutely abysmal. This place used to be my top spot. Guess I’ll have to try mandarin court in Sewell again. Chicken and broccoli did not smell or taste right. Watery and smelled like a wet shoe. I will never go back here again, reading comments seeing that it seems new management took over.

Very disappointed with the food this evening, as we have been going here for a long time. Apparently there is new ownership. Crab rangoons were overdone and little to no crab filling. No Rangoon sauce was given. Dumplings were supposed to be boiled, but they were also hard and overdone. Wonton soup was much clearer than we are used to and had no taste. General Tao Chicken did not have the usual orange, sticky flavorful sauce. Instead had a brownish coating and had no taste at all. Shrimp pad tai and chicken fried rice were "ok". A very disappointing $75 meal.

Order shrimp fried rice as always, but the rice was white and did not taste good at all. I ordered chicken and that was not food. The general tso chicken didn't taste food either. Definitely not Tokyo Mandarin anymore. I won't return.

Got take out and I wish I never spent my money on this . The veg fried rice was just white rice with peas and carrots . And the crab Rangoon was just gross . So disappointing.

I hate to give bad reviews, but unfortunately the experience was significantly bad. This was on a Saturday night, so they may have been busier than they anticipated. It could be it was just a bad time for them.

- The good things were staff was friendly and sushi quality met expectations (although prices did go up). This is why they get 2 stars.

- Pick up order wasn't ready until 40 minutes after original pick up time estimate.

- They have a sign that states online and menu pricing doesn't reflect the 3.5% card fee. I understand processing fees, but to not state that online feels like they're hiding it.

- My food was cold when it was finally ready.

- My biggest gripe was with my order of sesame chicken. I only found about 1-2 tiny pieces of actual chicken in my order. The rest was just strips of fried batter. So the sesame chicken was just fried batter and rice.

- I'm currently writing this review from my toilet the next morning. Obviously Chinese food doesn't make you feel great, but this is beyond a normal reaction to Chinese food.

Let’s start off how they gave me raw meat …. Ordered honey glaze wings they gave me raw fish w some disgusting sauce …. Then the drink they gave me was terrible didn’t even taste like root beer at all was very stale old . Spring rolls was wrong . Food got me sick

Most horrible food I've ever purchased. It was big box food sold as fresh made. No taste bland and not what we've gotten there before. It was such a waste of money. They also shorted our order and laughed when we went right back in to get the rest of our food. First we were told it was in the bag even though we checked every item then when we went back in a second time they laughed and said oh we found the rest of your order. Huge disappointment. Won't ever go back.

It's not tokyo mandarin anymore. New name, new owners, new menu. It was horrible. We have been eating here for 15 years. It was our favorite. Went last night for our sons birthday, and it was awful. Service was terrible. When we got there we were the only ones there, so they weren't busy. Had to ask 3 times for napkins. Ordered a ton of sushi, it was served family style. Had to ask 2 times for plates to eat off of. She finally brought us coffee saucers to eat off of. Had to ask for something to put soy sauce and Wasabi in, she brought 1 bowl for 4 people. Ended up using the coffee saucers for that. Ordered 3 appetizers. They brought them out 1 at a time, with about 10 minutes in between. My son ordered a crab salad app. There was almost no crab at all in there. We ordered shrimp tempura. It had cream cheese in the middle and the smallest pieces of shrimp. When we placed our order, my husband ordered a sushi roll, and quickly cancelled it, it came anyway. All the food came out in stages instead of together. My mother ordered a hot meal, it came after we were almost done eating. The food was subpar, the service was worse. Definitely won't be back. Dinner was 197 dollars, and we didn't even eat it all, it was so bad. So disappointed.

We used to love Tokyo Mandarin. But now that’s it’s under new management, the food has changed so much. It doesn’t taste as fresh like it used to. Everything is too over cooked and gummy. We also received the wrong sushi. They don’t seem to understand us on the phone. I ordered a shrimp tempura and got some fried shrimp with cream cheese in it. Not shrimp tempura but also not a Philly roll. It was nasty. We’re done with this place and will find a new one. It’s sad that it’s changed because we’ve been coming here for years.

Updating my review… apparently this location has now changed management and names …. I ordered HIBACHI STEAK tonight for takeout and I’m absolutely appalled at what I was given … the most gummy/chewy meat I have ever had in a watery sweet sauce that barely resembles the flavor of hibachi . I’m disappointed and saddened to say the quality is 2/10. I am not sure if the poor quality is due to it being a holiday …but I am
not sure if i will return.
