This review is so overdue! This restaurant has become my go-to place for the best food in the area. I have tried so many restaurants but none keeps on calling my taste buds like La Cambusa! I come with my hubby and daughter and most recently with some of my betsies..I love their menu is small but super delicious. Their appetizers are amazing ? the little bruschetta at the beginning is so yummy and you kind of build it yourself. The flavors are super clean and sauces are light and full of flavors. Sometimes food is drenched in so much sauce that it loses its unique flavor but not here. Every dish is a perfect harmonious bite. It is BYOB which is a plus. Keep up with the nice clean flavors! I had a 530 reservation for two people. The food was wonderful. Everything was delicious as far as the service servers were very friendly, but we were completely rushed from the minute we sat down server hovering over us, asking us if we were done with the bread.  Took away my appetizer plate with food on it that I didn't even get a chance to finish just kept rushing us, asking us if we were done at today's prices for dining. I do not want to be rushed like that when out with my sister trying to enjoy a nice dinner, I will say again the food was fabulous but Service needs to be slow down and the server not constantly at our table the whole time asking if we were finished

Food and service was outstanding. Wait staff was incredibly friendly and professional. The food flavorful and well prepared from my bronzino expertly filleted tableside to the quality and perfectly prepared espresso to end the meal! It was a pleasure to dine there!

LaCambusa is consistently wonderful regardless if the dining experience is for 2 people or 30, &/we have been there as a couple & have had a party of 30, with absolutely no complaints! Wonderful service & delicious food! We have followed LaCambusa from Fairlawn, Ridgewood, Garfield & now in Wycoff!

Busy Friday night. Obviously, a popular spot. The young server that we had was excellent. There was no rushing. The owner was visible and very much aware and involved with the flow. Understanding that the place was packed would've had an excellent rating if the noise level was reduced

We had a special afternoon family celebration and the staff and owner couldn’t have been kinder or more accommodating to our planning and requests. The food and service were excellent. We were so pleased with our experience. I highly recommend this delightful restaurant!

Our party of four dines at La Cambusa frequently because the food is excellent. We have never had a bad meal. The wait staff is attentive and doesn't rush us. My husband will only go to BYO restaurants and this is one of our favorites.

This was our first time at La Cambusa. 3 of us had a 6:30 reservation on a Saturday night. We were greeted warmly at the door & seated right away. Our table was by the front window, closest to the front door. It's a chilly spot on a cold night! Our waiter was friendly, courteous, & professional. We ordered a salad and the polenta as appetizers. Neither was very impressive. The salad dressing was bland (maybe people prefer that but I like a little more vinegar in my dressing) & plain black olives didn't do much for it; however the portion was large and there was plenty for the 3 of us to share. The polenta itself was lovely & the sauce & sausage were tasty. I did not enjoy the mushrooms in this dish. They added nothing to it and we could have happily done without them. We ordered two entrees & an appetizer for dinner. We had pasta with vodka sauce and shrimp. This was delicious! The pasta was perfectly al dente, the shrimp were cooked through (and just sort of thrown in), and the sauce was creamy, generous, and tasty. We also ordered a veal dish that had a wine sauce & mushrooms. It came with a potato croquette & broccoli. All were seasoned and cooked to perfection! We also ordered the garlic shrimp with grilled zucchini appetizer as a dinner. It was also cooked to perfection, although I would have preferred grilled shrimp as opposed to the sauteed shrimp and more zucchini. Desserts were delicious. We. had the flan, which was made in-house. Yum! We also ordered the cheesecake (not made in-house). It was very good with a raspberry sauce on top. Our waiter kindly sent over three small cannolis, which were terrific! Overall, while I wasn't thrilled with our starters, the entrees/dinners and desserts were great. The restaurant was chilly, but we were seated by the door. My biggest complaint is that the meal took just over 2 1/2 hours. There were very long waits between courses. Everything came out hot and I certainly don't like feeling rushed, but this meal was too long.
The food was great and the service was excellent. The maitre d' and our waitress, Mariana, were extremely accommodating and professional when we asked to change tables due to proximity to a large dinner group.

As always, La Cambusa delivered. Super food and service at a fair price. My sole Francaise with pasta in the same sauce, was excellent. My wife had a seafood dish with Arborio rice and I haven't heard this admitted “foody” rave about a dish like she did, since we were in Italy. Bravo!
Everything was nice. They offer cocktail mixings. The last two times, they have not really been equivalent in taste to a normal bar. We bring the alcohol they prepare the cocktail. We didn't really enjoy them. Tried a few different ones at our table. Probably won't be using that service next time. Everything else was nice.

I really enjoy their food, you are never rushed no matter how busy they are, and they're usually busy. Not fond of the Caesar salad. It's more vinegar than creamy, and I do like the anchovy touch. Love it & it's excellent !!!
