Harbour Restaurant

I'll start by saying that everyone in my party enjoyed their meal. However, the service was extraordinarily slow; it took about an hour to get our meals on an evening when there were few people in the dining room. We would have appreciated a heads up on the service delay, but our server seemed like she was avoiding us.

We had a party of 4 show up at 8:15pm even though the restaurant was closing at 9. The server still accommodated us and was very welcoming. Had the buffalo chicken wrap with sweet chilli sauce and it was great. Service was good and food came faster than expected. Great restaurant for a bite to eat before the ferry.

First time i have never left a tip. We placed our drink order and food order, took about a half hour to bring the appetizer (wings) which were okay, then around another 45 minutes for the mains. The wrap was dry and almost no flavor, fries were cold, shrimp was dry and no flavor, fish was overly greasy. Felt like it was sitting under a heat lamp. The waiter would rather stand at the bar and talk to his friends than ask how the food is, or even ask if we needed a drink refil, had to ration my water because i knew i wouldnt get a refill. Horrible service. I try to see the positive in places but we were told it wouldnt be a long wait for food and there were almost no positives, its hard not to be critical. Would not recommend. Go to tim hortons instead.

Showed up a couple hours before a ferry crossing. The downstairs seating area was very open and easy to find a spot. Food was slow, 1hr+, but as expected ahead of the ferry! We arrived with a large crowd ahead of us upstairs. Portion of Fish Tacos was huge! Really good food and beer choices. Recommended spot just give yourself time ahead of the ferry rush.

Good food, but horrible service. The place wasn’t busy at all. Never seen the waitress more than a couple times. Noticed most people even had to go up to pay with their dishes left on the table. One of the worst.

I don't like giving bad reviews but at the stake of the reputation of this lovely town...Port aux Basques- hard pass on this place. Service and food is in need of some serious improvement. We visited here 7 years ago on our first visit to Newfoundland and it was just lovely.
We hope this review is a wake up call to make some needed changes.

Oh man. This place is far from good. I just waited an hour for a burnt hockey puck on a bun. I could have dropped that centre ice in the playoff finals and she'd be stronger than the real thing. This was the absolute WORST burger I've ever eaten, and my mother used to boil sunrise patties when we were kids... I'd rather eat that. They should have a dental plan on the menu because you're liable to lose teeth. The person I went with had the fish tacos which also took an hour and they burned the pitas but still decided to serve them. And to top it all off our waiter asked us 5 times if everything was okay BEFORE WE GOT OUR FOOD. 'Harbour' is a great name for the place cause that's where the food belongs...in the harbour.

I realize this review is colorful (unlike the food) however if things are this bad, why are we sending them from the kitchen to the customer. Here's some constructive criticism from a chef. Quality check your food. If it looks burnt, dried out, made wrong, don't send it out. If you don't change, neither will the reviews. And buddy, as it currently stands, the only thing you guys are slaying, is your business.

I was terribly disappointed that the food wasn't fresh I am in nfld here for the experience I chose this establishment bc of it #1 being my last meal here and wanting a fresh seafood meal as it said it was a seafood place looked like it was getting ready to close down for good felt like it was a sad environment. The waitress seemed like the life had been sucked out of her.they couldn't keep up with the 5 tables that had people at them .I get life is hard here but it's the season to make your money and I felt like walking out as I was walking in.

If you like fish cakes with no fish in it, overcooked sea food and taters AND, you love waiting an hour for your food, boy, is this the place for you! Better yet, is the teenage looking cashier at the front who couldn't care less.
Absolute waste of my money and time. Avoid at all cost.

Only ordered a burger and was told 20 minutes for takeout,one hour and ten minutes to get two burgers and when we got back to our trailer found out they had forgotten to put cheese on our burgers but charged us for it never again

SECOND time in my ENTIRE life I didn't leave a tip!!

She was nice enough but we hardly saw her despite the place being fairly quiet. She served us our drinks followed by our appetizer. We wanted another drink but she kept avoiding eye contact and didn't come back until dinner was delivered and we no longer wanted the drink. It was a short wait for the drinks and app but super long wait for the main. She never did ask how things were or if we wanted anything else. Wanted some water after eating but ran into the same situation.

Atmosphere was cute with a great ocean view.

Wings were really good, scallops and shrimp were "OK" and chicken was also "OK".
