It's a nice little bar. People come up and talk to you. The bartenders are really nice, great people to talk to, and professional. The reason why I rated the food a one-star is because I never had their food. It smelled and looked delicious, though. I would go here again next time in Clarenville.

This pub is conveniently located near the cruise ship port. They feature Moose Burgers and locally brewed beer, both of which were good. Also, the atmosphere was nice, with Irish music playing in the background.
We enjoyed a moose burger sandwich, lemonade and a locally brewed IPA beer. Everything was excellent. Sat outside and watched the street activity. The service was excellent.
Great Staff, Absolutely Amazing, But The Band (Bob and Earl and a Bass a player ) Were Absolutely Unbearably Loud For Friday Evening Set! Also I thought Shamrock City would be an Irish Music Pub… but these guys shouted country cover songs all night!!
Great venue for traditional music. we were fortunate enough to catch local band Down Forward as they served up Newfoundland, and American folk rock standards.
If you’ve never had a moose burger, then this should be your first stop when you get to St.John’s. Don’t expect a thick, juicy piece of meat, it is gamey and needs to be on the well-done side. With all the trimmings, it is a nice big burger. You can have it with fries or a salad (several choices on both) and it makes for a good lunch or dinner. Restaurant has both inside and outside seating. Service is friendly, but leisurely.
Service and food was good. Not very lively for a Thursday evening though
I cannot complain about anything. The staff is awesome. Love the atmosphere. Apparently Monday night is super busy with the University crowd, but Tuesday is their burger menu. Every night has live music.
The manager took up every seat at the bar so there was no room for customers. Waited 15 minutes before server came by. I think they might need new management.

Food was delicious and great service
This place is awesome great service and awesome staff.
We sat out in the outdoor patio for dinner and had to wait for a waiter to come by-there were other diners and all were waiting. Drinks took a while to come and our meals even longer time. We had the moose burger(wouldn’t recommend-very greasy) and chicken taquitos with salad(this was alright-a little dry). The price was fair but just not worth the experience.
This was the only place a party of 6 could get into without reservations on a Friday night. Food was good as well as the atmosphere.
Visited this pub recently with my sister and brother-in-law. Our plan was to have a drink while the other members of our group did some shopping. After being seated I texted my wife at 5:14 to let her know where we were. The pub was moderately busy, but certainly not packed. Shortly after we were seated a waiter came to take the drink order of an adjacent table that had arrived before us but did not take our order (which was fine). About 5 to 10 minutes after that the Waiter delivered the drinks to the adjacent table and took their food order, but again did not take our drink order. I tried to get his attention, but even though he had to walk right by our table he apparently didn’t see me. After several more minutes the waiter brought the food to the adjacent table, but ignored us. Perhaps we weren’t one of his tables. In all we waited over 25 minute’s (no exaggeration as I had a record of when I texted my wife) without having a single waiter so much as even acknowledge us. We eventually gave up and left. Personally I wanted to stay just to see how long it would take to have our order taken as by the end I was finding it all somewhat amusing.
