Super rude behavior! Absolutely don’t recommend this place to any one, the lady that answered the phone was way impolite and told me that I don’t understand your accent in the most rude way possible. We were 4 and all were amazed by the unacceptable behavior of the responsible!!!
A gem of a restaurant. Cod, both pan fried and battered were delicious. Homestyle in both taste and service. Lovely people.

We popped in late for a dinner when we got to our Airbnb. The server was the owner and she was friendly and answered our questions and explained that she cooks too so it may take some time. Being a mom and making dinners for my family I know making a good meal takes time. Our drinks came out in a timely manner and our food arrived pipping hot and delicious. If you want fast food go to McDonalds, if you want good, local fare like your mom would make, I recommend here. We'll be back before we head home.

Very happy we found this local family owned restaurant. We had the herb and Dijon crusted cod and salmon and both were amazing. The staff were extremely friendly great to chat with about the history of the restaurant as well as the local area.

Delicious and authentic good ol' home cooking. Better then your own nans. The cod was delicious (our group had battered and pan-fried) and I wish I could buy a whole pot of that gravy! Will be coming again!!

We visited in mid July. Our bed & breakfast host, Todd, recommended The Blue Whale for pan fried cod. He said that Judy did a nice pan fried cod & she would take care of us. Out of a half dozen cod dinners during our stay in Newfoundland, it was the best by far!! Judy met us when we entered the restaurant. She cautioned that dinner might take up to 45 minutes as she did everything from scratch. It was well worth the wait - in fact, we spoke to Judy on our way out to find out some cooking tips regarding her pan fried cod!!

Best pizza on the Avalon peninsula by far , I ordered a extra large pizza with the works , I couldn’t believe how heavy the box was , it was totally amazing
Had a very tasty cod fish dinner here, and glad we happened to find this place. The cod fish was fished by the owners sister as well.
The lady who I am guessing is the owner, was one of the nicest people we met on our trip to Newfoundland. She cooked a great meal, chatted with us, and just had such a pleasant and fun personality.
It took us a second to find the restaurant section, as the back of the building looks like a lounge/ bar. But just walk through and into the restaurant and enjoy a meal.

Can't say enough good things. We had a lovely lady serve us and our burgers came out so quickly.
If you are around here and want a change of pace, they have some lovely homemade burgers
