War Wick's Restaurant

From our experience today, I don't think I will ever go back. Had a platter with sweet and sour chicken, chicken fried rice, and soo-guy. First of all, there was just hardly any flavor in any of the food. The sweet and sour chicken was tough, with no flavor. The rice was extremely dry, and it was cold. The soo-guy had no flavor, and the gravy that was out on it had no flavor either, just tasted like a starchy brown sauce. The egg roll was not cooked, and was cold in the middle. The red sauce was not even sweet, and again, just didn't have flavor. The chicken pieces my father had were dry, and over fried. His fries were actually soggy. I have been there before, and there was no issue. But this time. it just wasn't good, at all. I don't know what happened actually, but to say the least, I and my father were not impressed. If I would give it a rating out of 10, I would have to say a 3. That was $60 for cold, bland, dry food.

What a wonderful restaurant. Reasonably priced. Food is good with generous servings. The owner is onsite to serve you and very sweet and personable.

Great food - probably the best north of St. John’s honestly. The staff were all super friendly. I’d definitely recommend stopping here if you are craving Chinese food.

Came by to try out the Chinese food based on the Google reviews and we weren't disappointed. Super prompt staff, food came out in almost no time, and it was delicious. Lots of staff on hand, the restaurant was clean and spacious. Prices were very reasonable and servings were generous. We left happy and full. Thanks for a great meal!

Les gens qui travaillent à cet endroit sont vraiment extraordinaires. La nourriture est bonne et le service exceptionnel. Ils nous ont même offert le dessert gratuitement pour l'anniversaire de mon épouse. En plus c'est un des rares restos à rester ouvert après 19 heures. Les prix sont très raisonnables.

Nice atmosphere.Quick service. But no one came to ask if we needed another drink while we were waiting for our food. No one checked while we were dining to see if everything was ok or if we needed anything more. Which means loss of sales for them as we could have used another drink.Mediocre food.

Was just recently taken over by new management in early July 2023, although didn't know that at the time going there, it was kinda late at night like 9:30 pm or so when I got there, I had chicken balls, rice, honey garlic spare ribs, egg roll, chicken chow mein. The food was decent only things I didn't like my rice was either refried or warmed up cause it wasn't fresh rice too dry, and some of the chicken balls were more batter than chicken.

The restaurant has a wide range of both Chinese and Canadian food choices. I had the War Wick special which was quite good, maybe a little bit too much sweet and sour sauce but that is on me. I could have asked to take it easy. The beef and broccoli was excellent and finally an egg roll with substance not just mashed meat. Suzy was a great server and cared about us. The manager did the same and was enthused by our presence.
