King Cod Fish and Chips

Was in today for lunch. Had the cod bites and fries. First time there. Excellent fish. Chips lovely and fresh. Fast efficient clean and friendly.

If you’re thinking of eating at King Cod, do yourself a favour and go chew on a frozen fish stick from Walmart instead. It’ll taste better, smell better, and you won’t have to deal with the grease-soaked troll who calls himself the owner.

My dog wouldn’t even eat this. I genuinely didn’t think it was possible to screw up fish and chips, King Cod treats it like an Olympic sport. The fish tasted like it had been deep-fried sometime last week and reheated in pure despair. FOUND BONES. The batter peeled off in soggy, tragic sheets, and the fries were so pathetic they could’ve filed for emotional support. The whole place reeked of ancient oil and bad attitude — like the fryer and the owner were having a competition over who could be more burnt out.

YOUR food tastes like punishment. I found an orange hair in my poutine. You should be apologizing for daring to serve that ocean-flavoured disaster.

King Cod? More like Kingdom of Bad Decisions. Avoid unless you enjoy disappointment, hostility, and fish that tastes like it died twice. I’ve attached a photo of my dog after i tried to give him a cod tongue.

This is my favourite spot for fish and chips! It’s not that bubbly, goopy batter. What you get a a fantastic piece of fish with a crispy, perfectly done batter. We had cod tongues today. I’d rather pan fried but for deep fried ones they are good. Lovely spot, very fast.

The cod was excellent, among the best in the province, the fries is good to very good, and the wings are good to very good. In my view the codfish on their sign deserves the crown thats bestowed upon him/her and deserves the title King.

Best Cod fish and chips ive ever had!

We ordered takeout of the 4 piece fish and chips which is plenty for 2 people. Taxes and all came to less than $30, which is an excellent deal. The cod was delicious. The fries were OK... the were a bit overdone.

We went there to have a small snack because the four of us (myself, fiancé and two sons) were just after having ice cream at tinkers in petty harbour and weren’t feeling overly hungry but wanted a snack. So my fiancé and myself decided to split a truckers special, one of the boys wanted mozzarella sticks and the other never wanted anything because he wasn’t feeling the best. As we were eating, the taller girl there that took the order asked if my son would like a free drink and he was like, not really but ok. She then went back talking to the shorter girl and looking in our direction, making us feel like we wouldn’t get him something. She then watched us for a bit and went about her business. As we were leaving she then rushed over to the blonde woman that was cooking and was peeping out over the counter at us while talking to her. I don’t know what her problem was but we felt so disgusted. We can afford whatever we wanted but just didn’t want that much. If we wanted 1 onion ring between the four of us and paid for it, what does it matter if we are paying customers. The food wasn’t fit, frozen mozza sticks and truckers special without dressing and no flavour ground beef that tasted undercooked. Every table there was dirty with leftover food from previous customers. This was my second time there and will definitely be my last. If you’re looking for similar food that tastes great, with great service, go to Keith’s in the Gould’s!!!

I have eaten there many times but last evening was the worst fish, it was so tough you couldn't eat it. It must have been over cooked or something. Not impressed.

We fine the service awesome, the food is the best and the portion size is more than enough. This is our go to place, give it a try everyone.

Worst customer service ever, quality of food and portions are the worst. Save your money and go to Keith’s diner !!!!
