We stayed here with plans of doing the 18km hike of Gros Morne. The jacuzzi in the room was so amazing afterward. And if you dont book the deluxe suite, there is a hottub and sauna on site you just need to sign up for. Breakfast was included and delicious. The room was clean, comfortable and private. We really enjoyed our stay and I would stay here again.
Last time I visited this restaurant a few years back, this was easily my favourite meal during my Newfoundland vacation. I had this really amazing vegetarian meal that boasted all sorts of complex flavours. It was unlike anything I’ve ever eaten before. I still dream about that meal.
This time around, while I wasn’t able to replicate the experience, it was still pretty high up there. Everything we ordered was really delicious, so this is a must visit for anyone visiting the Gros Morne area.
Had a wonderful 3 night stay! Rooms are a little dated but very clean and quiet. Staff were friendly and able to accommodate any request we had.
The real gem is the restaurant - it is absolutely delicious. We ate there all three nights and couldn't get enough.
Our server Bonnie in the dining room was friendly, efficient and knowledgeable - we just loved everything about our dining experience. We travelled with another family and all together we tried just about everything on the menu over 3 evenings and I do not have a single complaint.
Highly recommend eating here!
Stayed here for a few nights. The rooms are big and clean, staff was incredibly helpful. Beautiful and convenient location. Breakfast each morning was delicious. Be sure to make a reservation for dinner - it’s very popular!
We had a fantastic meal here Friday night( duck, chicken, both beautifully prepared). We met Chef Dan, lovely guy. Just a great experience. So, we went back on Saturday and brought a friend. Another excellent meal( oysters, scallops, mussels to start then cod, lamb and salmon). Again, all was well prepared and beautifully presented. A real find!!
Sugar Hill Inn & Chanterelles Restaurant in Norris Point gave me one of those rare, unforgettable meals that lingers long after the last bite. Nestled above the town with sweeping views of Gros Morne’s rugged beauty, the setting alone is worth the visit—but it was the cod that truly stole the show. Perfectly seared, delicately seasoned, and served with a flourish of local vegetables and a silky cream sauce, it was hands-down the best I’ve ever had.
We ate here while visiting from Toronto. As two foodies we were not expecting to be “wowed” by a small town restaurant but oh were we wrong!! This chef has a gift and we loved every bite! (Including the green salad, the duck and the halibut). Thank you!!!
Everything was delicious as usual. Excellent service.
I highly recommend Chanterelles.
The best food and services so far! I can only recommend it! And at the entrance I had to buy some nice glass decorations.

Sugar Hill Inn has spacious, seemingly new rooms. The staff are all warm and kind. The food at Chanterelles (restaurant) is exceptional. We had the cod and the seafood linguini. The sweet potato and apple soup was fabulous! We ate at Chanterelles both nights. They were the best meals we had in Newfoundland. The bed in room 1 was somewhat soft, the only negative. The beds in room 8 were firm. No back pain in the morning. VERY highly recommended!

Excellent service and food.
We made a reservation for an early dinner at 5:30 pm and we were the first guests for the evening.
They served us an amuse bouche which pleasantly surprised all of us.
The seafood plates were all very good, fresh and flavourful.
The interiors were that of a historic house turned restaurant. It is part of an inn but we didn’t stay there so I can’t comment on the rooms.
There were quite a few paintings and art on the walls which made the restaurant even more interesting. It felt like we were dining in an art gallery. Lovely!

Delicious, fresh food and excellent service. Our favourite special occasion spot in the area! Delicious cocktails as well. Don't miss it.
Chanterelles restaurant is sooooo excellent! Chef Danny is amazing - you have to come here in the summer to make sure you can eat the food from his kitchen. Everything we had on the menu was a hit - including the oysters, mussels, fishcakes, veggie pineapple curry, and cod (remarked as “best cod i’ve ever had!)”). We also had the bread basket with the butter (chives and red pepper we think?) - each piece was amazing and we even ate the leftover crumbs. alcohol selection was pristine and we’re finishing off with a maple balsamic creme brulee!
We stayed in the Inn and had dinner at the restaurant. We had an amazing stay and the food is fabulous! As guests, we also had complimentary breakfast. I liked the way it is organized- pick the time and your meal the day before. Very efficient. The people are also really nice and the service is wonderful. Christine is such a sweet person. The location is also great in terms of proximity of things to do in Gros Morne. I would stay here again if I ever return to NL.

Exploring the culinary scene in Gros Morne, we were thrilled to discover Chanterelle, a rare gem in the region. The service was impeccable, and the food was excellent, highlighting the best of local ingredients. Due to its limited capacity, I highly recommend making a reservation in advance to ensure you can enjoy this delightful dining experience.
