Excellent vibe. I have enjoyed every time I've been to Banished.
We visited for a work function, the food was great, the beer was excellent and the service was fabulous! Great atmosphere! if you're looking for a way to support local, this is it! We will definitely be back, probably with friends!
Went to pick up my 12 beers of Christmas glasses and ended up trying some food and beer.
Spundy Smash Burger and Pretzel Bites were great and so was the beer “Space Puffin”
Place was a vibe for sure, definitely recommend!
Stumbled on this place while Googling a spot for a quick bite after a day of exploring the Avalon Peninsula while on vacation from the US. We wanted great food but without a long wait. Decided to try Banished. So much fun!! You are actually dining in a corner of the brewery that's decorated all funky with a full bar and all of their beers on tap. You place your order at the bar (bartender was so much fun!), then they bring your food to your table. We both got their smash bacon/cheese burgers with fries. THEY WERE SO TASTY!! We LOVED them. Lots of great caramelization on the beef, nice brioche bun, fries were yummy and tasted fresh (not out of a bag from a freezer). Service was so friendly and fast! They had great music playing, the crowd was lively, and looking around I noticed that everyone was happy and having a great time. If we lived anywhere near this place it would be a weekly stop for us. SO FUN! Give them a try!
My favourite brewery!
Attended wedding here. Great event.
Great little spot for a brew and a chat. Great burgers too.
This place is seriously a vibe! The beer is now my top pick, the staff are just awesome, the outdoor patio is huge and vibrant, and walking through the brewery is such a cool experience. The can art is like pure magic, and the contents are even more incredible! I totally recommend this spot!
Always a great experience when we stop in to Banished. The beer selection never disappoints, and even had the opportunity to have a good chat with one of the owners Tom to give us a run down on the current selection of brews and upcoming partnerships. Truly impressed with their recent Paddles Up partnership, and the beer is great too! Also, their merchandise is a great take home piece. See you again soon.
I only ranked it 4, since I only had one flight and no food.

Love the atmosphere! Great drinks and loved the nachos!
Decent food menu options. Good beers. Very large outdoor seating area with a ton of picnic tables and bean bag toss. They have toys for kids to play with too!
Great brewery, great staff, great food, great indoor and outdoor seating, everyone seems to genuinely love working here. I hope they're paid well. Killer job at banished fest, please do one in January
I bought some tall boys of the Banished Imperial Stout from Marie's, as I'm trying/reviewing all local breweries' strongest beers, and I haven't tried anything from Banished yet. Sure, it was definitely a bit overpriced @ $7 a can compared to other local brands. But I like a good, strong beer and thought it would be excellent so didn't mind paying a bit extra. The first can was FLAT! Normally, I check the best before or the bottled on date but I couldn't see it on 2/3 cans as it was so faded, but could just barely see it on the third can when I looked closer under a light when I got home. I was shocked to see that this beer had been sitting on the shelf since LAST YEAR! I'm not sure if it wasn't stored properly, brewed properly, or was just too old, but it was very disappointing. I was hoping it was just one-off and that only one can would be flat, but I wasn't so lucky, and all of them were flat. PLEASE make sure the bottled on/best before dates are more visible so it's clear to customers how old the beer is. When you're charging that much per can, they shouldn't be sitting on the shelf for that long. I've tried almost every local brewery in NL and never experienced anything like this. Over the years, I have never once been disappointed with local beer, until now. I pay more because local beer is usually always great and always reasonable fresh. Most of the tall boys I regularly buy are canned 2-4 months ago. Even 6 months is fine, maybe a bit longer if stored in a proper fridge. But storing beer for this long in an open cooler is unacceptable. Maybe your beer wouldn't sit on the shelf for so long in the first place if you lowered the price to be the same as other local beer (QV, BB, YBB, LW, and PR). They all make excellent beer, never been disappointed by them ONCE, always a quality product. "Banished", what a suitable name for a brewery I'll never buy beer from again. :)
Fantastic food, solid pints and great music on a sunny Saturday afternoon.
