There’s been a dip in service and quality over the past few months. Takeout orders are often not ready at the scheduled pickup time — usually 5-10 minutes late but it has been as much as 20-30 minutes past pick up time.
The sushi has been inconsistent lately, but still better than most overall. Pieces are sometimes falling apart, sauces are on some pieces of a roll and not others, etc.
I’ve been a regular customer since they opened and rarely had any issues before, the change is noticeable. Issues are expected occasionally, but over the past few months it’s been happening with most orders. I’ve noticed that some other reviews mention similar recent concerns. I’ve recommended Ocean Sushi to many friends as one of the best sushi spots in the metro region, so this recent decline has been disappointing.

Very disappointing first experience. We placed an order online and it said it would be ready in 20 minutes. We arrived at about 22 minutes and they said it would be ready in a few more minutes which is fine. But they kept saying a few more minutes, a few more minutes for well over a half hour. After 45 minutes of waiting in the restaurant (order placed 65 minutes ago) they come out and tell us they are out of Butterfield and had to substitute. So we ended up waiting in the restaurant between 50 and 60 minutes. We were in a rush to be somewhere which is why we ordered online. The portions we're great and the sushi was ok but nothing special. We order from other sushi places and get much better portions and sushi. We have never experienced anything like this with any other sushi places. The restaurant was mostly empty and very few orders being picked up while we waited. We told them we wanted a refund and that was when we got our order. We will not be going back.

Crispy spicy tuna roll was delicious. Beef Carpaccio was a great app even though it came last. Chicken Katsu Ramen was out of this world. The lunch special is a great value to try a couple rolls.

Just had sushi for the very first time with my buddy and I got to say holy crap probably one of the best meals I’ve ever had great customer service was at your service instantly sat us down asked us what we wanted to drink and etc and place was also very clean

We usually go to another spot thats very popular but wanted to try a new place. A friend suggested here. It was really tasty, a little more expensive then S.S but we got what we paid for. Better more friendly service, the sushi was amazing, we'll be back again as soon as possible, lol. My only compliant is it's a little cramped but I'll gladly let that go. Yummy!
ok so used to go here all the time but tonight i had the worst time at a restaurant in my life. i ordered 4 dine in sushi rolls and 2 eat out and it took 2 hours! after a hour i got 3 rolls out of my dine in ones so i ask for my 4th one and the service says one minute it took 5. and there was a group of people that got there 10 minutes after me and they got there sushi before me and they ordered more than me and got out before me. i also didn’t get my take out. And the food was so much worse than it used to be it was dry and crunchy and it was falling apart. And they had the most weird music it was like pop but remixed badly. And they didn’t even give me something to make up. i wouldn’t go here for a long time. fix your damm restaurant!
