The restaurant is named after the schooner Waterwitch which ran aground nearby and whose crew was rescued by the local fishermen. The place is take out only and serves various deep-fried goodies. I personally really enjoyed the cod bites but I'd ask for extra dressing as the food was on the blander side. A pro move is to picnic at the nearby William Tuff Lookout.

Janet and Roger make incredible food, but even more important is that they’re just about the kindest people you’re ever going to meet. We got stuck after a long hike on the East Coast Trail with no easy way to get back to our car 15km away. Without even pausing for a breath, they offered to drive us all the way back once we’d rested up. It was one of the highlight moments of our trip to NFLD. Plus we had the chance to learn all about the tragic and heroic history of the Water Witch. We can’t wait to go back.

Amazing food and help while hiking the East Coast Trail. We arrived late in the day after walking through the trail but that didn't matter. The owner allowed us to order and charge up minutes before her posted closing. After we tried several places to rent for the night and dry out she was able to put us in touch with a lovely women who had a place to stay for the night. Excellent all around and I highly recommend anyone who's in town to stop by.

Owners are extremely kind-hearted people—while hiking a potion of the East Coast Trail we stopped in for lunch and they ended up helping us organize a ride to St. John’s. Customer service is above and beyond at this wonderful local business in Pouch Cove!
