there’s a great view on the patio and there is live music inside the bar! Always call ahead to reserve because busy seasons they might not have enough seats for everyone! You would think that newfies don’t know how to poutine but their sauce and fries was actually great! The curds is missing some squeak though ;)

If I could give this zero stars I would. We left hungry and disappointed. The patio and atmosphere was lovely, but our server got us drinks then forgot we existed. Never took our food order. We gave up after an hour waiting for her to come back. She walked past us so many times and didn’t look at us while we tried to get her attention. We had to go up to her while she was clearing a table nobody was waiting for to ask for our bill. At this point we didn’t have time to get in anywhere else. Most tables on the patio were staring off into space and waiting long periods for her to come back, but she only had 5 tables. If she’s new I feel awful, but if that’s the case she needs some support.

The absolute worst service in Rocky Harbour. Waited 10 min to be seated even though there were tables available. Once seated the waiter ignored us and served three tables that came in after us. Had to ask twice for a menu, then we just went to another table and asked to borrow theirs. Restaurant owners must be from Toronto, because b'y I've never met a Newfoundlander that could be that rude.

Paulette is the glue that keeps this place together from our observation. Not sure what the other 3 servers are there for other than decoration. If not for Paulette it doesn't look like much would get done. Not a terribly busy evening but she never stopped.

Nice place with good service. The beers are poured nice and tall and the lobster poutine was delicious.
I absolutely loved the lobster roll!!!!!!! We saw Anchors Aweigh the 1st night.
2nd night 3 of us came back so I could be screeched in at the Kitchen Party. Beware though, the signage around town in the shops said in was $10 to get in & it's another $15 to get screeched in. Upon arrival, their sign had the $10 covered up & read $20. I showed the photo I had taken at a shop that day & was told it was $20 & that the sign I had seen was wrong. Half the reason we came was because it was $10 each to get in. We almost left seeing that it was $20.
On the flip side though, we did come here about 5 times during our Newfoundland trip.

Food was OK at best. Staff was unattractive. Would have had dessert and another drink, but our waitress never returned after taking our order. Kitchen staff brought out our food, and we had to the bar to pay. I'm sure there are better places in the cute town to eat.

Such a fun time at the Kitchen Party. $15 cover. One man sang and told stories and got the crowd into the action. : men played guitar and sang. Then he got the women then the men up to dance after he had passed out home made instruments to rattle or bang along with his music. My husband along with 20 others were “Screeched In”. A silly fun ceremony of reading a pledge, then drink Screech (local alcohol), then kiss a cod fish - hysterical! He is now an honorary Newfie.

We tried to go but show was sold out. They said it had been sold out for s few weeks. The website mentioned group reservations but not non-group. Disappointing.
Dark, dated, kinda dingy restaurant. Went to order linguine, they didn't have it. Ordered shaved steak sandwich on a ciabatta bun with peppercorn sauce and fries instead. It came, on a plain burger bun (not ciabatta as on menu, nothing was said about the substitution), plain gravy. The tasteless steak made the bun soggy. Not a peppercorn sauce as on menu. Fries were good. Companion had lobster roll, said it was meh. Another companion had wings, said they were ok. Another had the 1/4 chicken, said it was fine. Service was good other than if item cant be served as per menu, server should let us know. Disappointed one of the main dishes couldn't be served. We wouldn't go back.
