Great staff who are so friendly and very efficient. Good food and drinks
Ate here both outside and inside outside was definitely better because of the view of the water directly staring into a sunset. Staff was amazing ann was a hoot and a half the lady with the dark hair was also a good time. They even got up and danced when the band was playing.
Great location right on the water. Great food, live music, friendy staff.
The Anchors Aweigh show cannot be missed. So many laughs and good memories. I would highly recommend!

It was OK. The club sandwich was edible... no real flavor to it. The fries tasted like they were done in old oil and I got the last bit of the basket- only little bits of fries. I would not go back

Food was good and the staff were extremely friendly. Found the overall price a little expensive ($40 for fish and chips and a drink). The coleslaw was a lacking in the sauce department.
Even though the food was good, besides the lobster roll, which was mostly filler. The portions for take out were nothing compared to the portions in the restaurant. Very disappointing

Great Lunch after visiting Gros Morne Park. The food was so delicious and came right out! Very generous portions and amazing service. Thank you to the two lovely ladies who served us, you were a highlight of the trip. The views of this did not disappoint, it is called OceanView after all. Will definitely visit again once I’m back in NF.

Great pub in the middle of Rocky Harbour. Typical pub fare with a patio overlooking water. Live music.

I went to the Anchors Aweigh show last night. I was quite disappointed. Especially for the effort I made to go and the price I paid. I don't know how this got such high reviews. While the playing and singing talent is there, their need to interject bathroom humor to make it "adults only" was not beneficial to the overall experience. I really did not understand most of the words that were said, and I had a good seat. The drummer had a lot of commentary that I couldn't even hear. I guess it was supposed to be funny but since I couldn't hear it, it wasn't. I did not recognize any of the music played nor did I feel it represented Newfoundland. Portraying one of the band members as being mentally challenged wasn't funny. At the start of the second half they've played an upbeat song that was a little toe tappy and I had hopes that maybe the rest of the set would be more enjoyable. It wasn't memorable in a good way. The first half I could have completely done without. I also felt misled in being told I needed to get there early, by 6pm, to get a good seat so I sat alone for nearly 2 hours when I could have made a reservation closer to the time for start of the show. I felt they just said that to force you to order your meal there. The food was okay. The bartenders were slow. I tried to make the best of it but I cannot recommend this to anyone I care about. It felt like typical tour bus entertainment that I try to avoid. I did meet some nice folks sitting next to me and I really wanted to find something nice to say about this whole experience, but after spending nearly two weeks in Cape Breton just prior to this and enjoying the uplifting experience of attending many, many events for their Kitchenfest week, I walked away from the Anchor Pub feeling cheated.

We recently stayed in a cottage in Rocky Harbour, and one evening, my two friends and I decided to have some drinks. A Google search indicated that Anchor Pub was the only pub in the area.
We arrived at the pub around 7 pm and found a young lady at the front desk selling entry tickets. When we asked for a table for three, she informed us that they had a sold-out live show starting at 8 pm and, despite the many empty tables in the dining room, she could not let us in. As we were about to leave, we noticed another couple entering without tickets. The same lady informed them about the live show but allowed them to sit at a table at the rear end of the dining area, which did not have a reservation sign.
This discrepancy surprised us, so we approached her again to ask if we could stay until the show started, as there was still an hour left. Her attitude changed significantly, and another lady at the front desk raised her voice, suggesting that we should go dine at another restaurant down the road. This experience left us feeling unwelcome, and it appeared that we were being treated differently because we were tourists of a different color from Ontario.
Although we had a wonderful experience throughout Newfoundland and Labrador during our two-week vacation, this incident at Anchor Pub in Rocky Harbour left a negative impression. This is incident that always comes to our mind when we think of Rocky Harbour and Gros Morne ?

Our food was just ok. Nothing notable about any of the dishes except the one person at our table got the chucutery board which was impressive. It was way too crowded. It appears the fire code was for 49 people, but there must have been well over 100 when we were there.
