I had both dinner and breakfast at this cute restaurant. I liked the atmosphere and the waitress. They had a few vegan options which can be difficult to find in such a small village.

It was a tiring hike that we just need to sit and eat. Decided to visit the famous Java Jacks and it didn’t disappoint us. Keep it up! Love our stay here in Rocky Harbour. ❤️

We were in Rocky Harbour for six nights and ate here for three of those. Luella was our server two nights. She was amazing. We ordered the chicken parmesan the first night and shared. We didn't think it was enough so we came back and ordered it again but shared a salad. Definitely didn't need to each have the chicken parm when you share a salad. It was so darn delicious.

We popped in for a coffee and bought lunch sandwiches a few weeks ago. The server making the coffee was pretty rude to us and made us feel very unwelcome. The sandwiches were also not great and one of them had what looked like mould on the bread (forgot to take a photo before throwing it away). Wouldn’t go back unfortunately

I had the seafood bake with was pretty good but very overpriced at and my wife had the cod which look oddly squarish and was very bland (kinda small)...I would not recommend as the sign indicate...the waitress seemed put off and not receptive...a little bit disappointed on 1st day in NL...

The food here is amazing! If you are just by Rocky Harbour, come here for dinner! Seafood is so fresh, tasty and delicious! We ordered the seafood bake, cod, scallops and mussels. Everything was 100%!

This is the best food that we’ve had in Rocky Harbour. We regret not visiting Java Jacks sooner in our visit as we’d have kept coming back for the duration of our stay. The Moose En Croute dish was incredible. The pesto mussels were fantastic and the Irish soda bread was a great extra.

Service was impeccable. The young man was very attentive, accommodated us with no reservation and was helpful when we were deciding on which menu items to order. Highly recommend Java Jacks!!

On our trip to Rocky Harbour, Java Jack’s was our favourite dinner spot in town! Everything we ate was delicious, and the service was speedy and friendly. Our family had the Moose en Croute, Salmon, and Chicken Parm for mains, and the pavlova for dessert. We enjoyed every bite, and would definitely come back!

Visited twice while in NL. Louella and Matthew were fantastic servers and the food was excellent. Among our party, we tried the roasted beet salad and the cranberry pecan salads were delicious. The tomato basil soup and the seafood chowder were excellent. Among the mains, the Moose en croute (moose pot pie), the salmon and the cod were cooked perfectly. Make sure to try the sticky toffee for desert, it’s awesome! The second time we visited we were unable to get a reservation when we called ahead, but Matt offered to serve us in the cafe. Having tried most of the eateries in Rocky Harbour, this is one you should top your list!

Came here for dinner after hearing good things about this restaurant. I don’t know if it was an off night, but aside from the seafood chowder, I can best describe everything else as being aggressively bland tasting. Very little (or boring) flavours across the board. It was an extremely surprising dining experience.

All that aside, the service was great with a comfortable dining atmosphere.

The restaurant is located at a beautiful spot and offers some amazing views. We went to this resturaunt for their dinner time which begins serving at 5 PM. Before that, they are closed and usually only accept reservations for dinner (can be done through the website).

Food was good, however, super over priced for the amount that you’re getting. For example, the mussels (categorized under Starters) were $16 and the portion was HUGE. However when we got the main popular dish - “seafood bubbly bake” which when asked, we were told by the server that it was “huge” and that 2 people can definitely share it, was super small in comparison.

The food is delicious and fresh, however, the portion and price did not make sense to me at all. If given the choice again, I would probably dine at a different place.

The meal was good, solid good. Over priced for sure, but that was expected. The server was extremely efficient. Nice local art displayed for sale, with some really nice pieces. Worth going to as part of a bigger trip, but in a bigger market, it wouldn't do so well.

Great food that is well balanced and fresh. fresh veggies have been sparse on our Newfoundland trip so when we found this place, we were delighted.
It’s great to see local art too!
