The best home cooked meal in Rocky Harbour, and our best meal in Newfoundland! We loved everything about this place. The service is second to none and the value is amazing. You have to get the seafood.Make sure you stop at this gem while in the area.

The meals here are awesome. You start with a homemade bun and soup (chowder or beef or turkey with vegetables), proceed to your entree, and end with a homemade dessert and coffee or tea. Portions are huge so you won't go away hungry. And oh, the homemade partridge berry jam is to die for All this with quick friendly service. The napkins are folded into intricate shapes--such attention to detail. The room is inviting with its green/gray walls and gleaming hardwood floors. A great dining experience. Can't wait to go back, see these lovely people again and have another great meal. .

The traditional fare in the province on a Sunday night is the likes of salted corned beef, salted beef, vegetables, boiled potato, mashed yellow peas and turnip/rutabaga plus of course a dessert [we had lemon meringue pie]. While the food was very good, even better was the meal was something typical of the province. The place has a down home feel about it. The restaurant is on the road to the left of the Ocean View Motel, any local able to point it out. It is a modest uphill stroll.

I chose the restaurant because it was smoke free and previous reviews and was not disappointed. Good vegetable soup in beef broth, the fresh fish- scallops, salmon, halibut and cod - was delicious and generous. I took the cod and some of the mashed potatoes back home to RV. The sunset views over the water were so beautiful my husband skipped the blueberry pie desert and drove back to the RV to get his camera. We appreciated the quiet atmosphere and that we could easily talk and hear each other!

We ate here on our last night in Rocky Harbour and we were not disappointed. I would say we left the best until last. This is away from Main Street, but well worth the trip. It is a family run restaurant. We had a 3 course meal for $28 - I had grilled salmon, and my husband had poached salmon. The price also included a chowder to start, and a homemade dessert - we both had homemade blueberry pie with icecream. Dinner roll also included. All of the food was fresh, and the staff were so kind - they came to chat to us, but not in an obtrusive. Such great value for money, and such a lovely place. Should we ever return to Rocky Harbour, we will most definitely be visiting again!

Simple homecooked meals. You get a lot for the price you pay! A bun, soup, entree, and dessert is one price on their menu. They have a variety of seafood options and it looks like they try to have at least one "land" (chicken, beef, etc) option available a day. Meals aren't seasoned a lot but they do provide salt and pepper on the table so you can season to taste. The couple the runs the place (I think) are very friendly and can tell you about the pictures on the wall.

The fisherman caught the cod that morning and showed up at their door in the afternoon. Need I say more? The freshest and most delicious fish I’ve ever had. This is like a dinner at your grandparent’s house. Your meal starts with their soup of the day which was corn chowder. We both had the pan fried cod and for dessert - partridgeberry cake with a rum sauce. The staff was super friendly. We rolled out of there very happy.

Had dinner 2 nights while we were in Rocky Harbour. Very fresh, good service and reasonable price. It is advisable to make reservation for the table and menu.

We really enjoyed this family run business. Away from the main strip in town and for some strange reason not busy. We did go when it opened. Food was great. Our fish meals consisted of soup (corn chowder), main plate (fish, mashed potatoes, carrots, coleslaw), desert and a hot drink. Very tasty with a healthy portion of fish. My family had the cod dinner and I picked the mixed seafood platter. The shrimps on the mixed platter was disappointing (little tiny ones). The cod was fresh and was the best part. They cook everything from scratch. Home cooking! Service was fast and friendly. Nice quiet atmosphere. Recommended

Parsons was a great discover! After a busy day visiting Gros Morne National park we were passing in front of this place and we decided to stop to ask about their home style meals, including Lobster and we decided to stay for dinner. It was the best dinner/meal we had in Gros Morne. The restaurant is not fancy, but it’s really cozy, with nice ambience, great pictures and an amazing and friendly service. We ordered fish and Lobster and the owner even helped us to eat the Lobster with a personal style! Hahaha The meals included an entrée and a dessert with option for coffee or tea for little less than $100cad (2 people) tip included! We totally recommend this place for the amazing food, the ambience and service!

Great food and awesome service! We showed up a bit late around 8pm, but still had a nice dinner. The food was very good, the dessert (Partridge berry pudding) was great! The service and attention to details was an unexpected bonus. Easily beats Jack's.
