This place is okay. At best. We saw the 4.2 rating and decided to give it a try anyway because it was the only place available. We regretted it thereafter. It was very disappointing.
We enjoyed a great meal taking in the beautiful scenery on the patio. Sharon did a super job ensuring we had everything we needed. The fish cakes didn't disappoint, just like the ones mom used to make. Partridgeberry tart was a lovely end to our meal.
Highly recommended.
I go there every year with Mom. The service food and atmosphere are always stellar.
Stopped by here for lunch — the dining room is downstairs. Lots of seafood platters on the menu. I ordered the seafood sampler, which came with a bit of everything, all lightly pan-seared. To be honest, the price is higher and the food was tasteless; no seasoning, not even salt... The gallery upstairs has lots of souvenirs and puffin-themed designs. A lovely artisan store!
This is a place that needs a serious review of logistics. We popped by in the morning to check on when was the best time to arrive if one was going to the theater in the evening. Based on that, we arrived at 5:45. We were quickly greeted and placed our orders hoping to have time to explore the area. Well, a larger group arrived shortly after and they had apparently pre ordered. They definitely had priority. We waited for our food for 1.5 hours. Given the limited eateries in the area, getting up and leaving wasnt an option. Our poor server was stressed and kept apologizing because she was helpless to do anything to improve the service. When our orders finally arrived, the food was fine but the opportunity to enjoy it was long gone. If you are there and a group arrives, beware - you may need to pack a lunch.
Not my first time here, group definitely enjoyed our meals! Delicious seafood chowder (I ordered the smaller size—generous!), and tried my first cod au gratin with tasty homemade fries. My partner eats gluten-free on account of celiac and very much enjoyed their GF fish and chips. Very friendly service, and a delightful gift shop upstairs!
Great restaurant in Trinity. Has all sorts of food available with reasonable cost. Downside it gets very busy and you may have to wait for a table for a while. Upside it's worth it.
Only everyday restaurant in Trinity.
For such an unassuming place, this was hands down the best fish and chips I’ve ever had. It’s in a beautiful, peaceful location.

We were looking so forward to a seafood meal and were supremely disappointed with our meals. Our food was delivered cold to begin with and had to be sent back to the kitchen to be reheated. My sister had the snow crab which couldn’t even be cracked as they just flattened. I had the seafood platter which was advertised as cod, salmon, and mussels. My plate arrived with mushy cod, cold salmon, and no mussels. We had an absolutely fabulous waitress but the chef was horrible

Absolutely terrible experience. I looked foreword all day for a crab meal. For $50.00 I got cold food. Sent the potatoes back to be heated, the crab couldn’t be cracked as they just flattened out. What a major disappointment!!!!

Our service was good - our server was well intentioned and kind. She did not tell us anything about the specials, but that was alright. The location of the restaurant is lovely, right on the water. It has been raining when we went so we sat inside, though would love to have been able to take advantage of the outdoor views.
Our food however, was pretty bad. Both my husband and I felt like our food was hard to eat. Neither of us finished. Even out baked potatoes were not fully cooked through - which is a pretty simple cooking task. I have the Cod au Gratin and he had the Scallops. Maybe we just caught them on a bad day? Or order some of their less popular dishes? Seems like those who ordered the fish and chips had much more positive experiences.
There weren’t many places in Trinity where we could walk in without a reservation, so their availability is definitely a perk. If we were in the area and needed to eat here again, we would definitely try something different on the menu. Overall, kind and well meaning staff, just an underwhelming food experience.
