Valentine dinner was a real disappointment. Reserved a room 1 month prior, made dinner reservations 1 week prior. Drove 2 hours to enjoy a romantic dinner. Arrived 30 minutes before our dinner reservation, waited 15 minutes just to “check in” and then another 1hr to be seated. We as a couple were seated at a table for 8 and told we could stay there and share the table with other couples or wait even longer to have a private table. While the salad and soup were enjoyable the actual entree of steak and lobster ($60 per person) was cold, no butter or sauce, and we never received our side dishes of mashed potatoes. Staff was obviously overwhelmed including the manager, who asked “if you don’t want” to share valentines dinner with a table of strangers, would you rather continue to wait for a private table?

Grabbed a quick bite for lunch. We ate inside, surrounded by beautiful works of art on every wall. Our food arrived quickly and was tasty ... typical fare for what we ordered (salad and appetizers). Our server was a bit slow, but we chalked that up having to cover too many tables at the time. We hope to return when it's a bit warmer out so we can enjoy the patio areas.

We were planning our trip on the drive back to Denver from a vacation in Santa Fe, when we decided to include a walking Georgia O'Keeffe studio and Ghost Ranch Tour. This had been a childhood dream of mine. A book about her and her work was one of my first art awards in grade school. Because of that, she was one of my first introductions into what became a lifelong pursuit of art. With a ticket booked, I began looking for hotel stays nearby and found this place. Honestly, it was the only place to stay that didn't involve getting up early for a drive to meet the tour group that started in the morning. The pictures looked cute. The location was next door to the welcome center, so I made our reservations without a second thought... and, I wish I'd have thought to make the stay longer! This place was completely adorable. The property itself is so much more than the pictures. There's a local artists' gallery available for purchase, a great gifts boutique, a restaurant with that charming patio which made for a memorable evening dining experience, walking paths adorned with outdoor art, a night sky where you felt like you could touch the stars... we didn't even have one of the fancier rooms, and we felt like we were living "the land of enchantment." I will definitely be back!
Food, service, seating, pricing and atmosphere is all great! The margaritas are not good- try something else!

A Truly Magical Wedding Venue…
Even though this review is long overdue, our experience at Café Abiquiu & LaTerraza deserves to be shared. We hosted our reception in their outdoor space, and it was nothing short of magical. The setting is so naturally beautiful that very little additional décor was needed. The surrounding scenery is absolutely stunning and created the perfect backdrop for photos we will treasure forever.
From start to finish, the management went above and beyond to make our day truly special. Their care, attention, and genuine kindness did not go unnoticed. The staff was incredibly warm, friendly, and welcoming, making us and our guests feel so well taken care of.
And the food…absolutely amazing. Our guests are still talking about it.
Café Abiquiu & LaTerraza played such a meaningful role in one of the most important days of our lives, and they will always have a special place in our hearts. We couldn’t recommend them more highly.

During our month-long visit to the area, we ate at Café Abiquiu & La Terraza half a dozen times. Every time, we found the food delicious, and the service impeccable. The prices are extremely reasonable, and the portions are large. The dining room is very pleasant, with comfortable seating, and the walls are festooned with art. Overall, I highly recommend this eating establishment.

Absolutely worst restaurant experience we ever had. We made reservations weeks ago for Thanksgiving turkey dinner. When we were seated we were promptly told they were out of turkey. So we had a choice to order ham $30) or brisket ($40). I ordered ham husband ordered brisket. His plate with 3 pathetic grizzly pieces of brisket was brought out cold. My plate of ham was composed of a little pile of ham bits and pieces. It was disgusting food. My husband sent his brisket back because it was cold. They brought it back after it was microwaved making the brisket even more rubbery. My husband complained and given a choice to order something different. He ordered the ham. He brought out a plate that had 2 smallish pieces of ham with lots of fat on it and a chewed piece of bread on it. It was obviously a plate that another customer had returned. It was disgustingly and repulsive. We talked to the manager and she told us she’d take care of the food bill but not our drinks. How tacky is that. Never ever will return. Disgusting place. They made no effort whatsoever to provide their customer with a nice Thanksgiving dinner experience. It was obvious they just wanted it to be done and over with. Gross and repulsive.
Delicious food in a gorgeous setting. We sat inside and enjoyed the local art liking the walls, but the outside seating area with the fireplace also looked lovely. Highly recommend the lamb enchiladas.

Really lovely inn and restaurant. The menu has a good selection of Mexican, American and some lighter options. Great ambiance on the patio with fascinating art. Dogs are welcome on the patio!

One of my favorite places. However they took prosecco off the beverage list. Sad about that.

Sierra was a delightful hostess and we were so thrilled with the food and the Rio Chama margaritas that SHE made. Diverse menu from New Mexico Mexican food to burgers to salads and all was delicious. Great prompt service and beautiful outdoor setting. She is a delightful server and the cafe is charming! We’ll be back!
