12th Street Tavern Reviews
Desiree is incredible and she makes sure we always have what we need!!
So my husband and I have been trying to get home, we live in Illinois, but because of the weather we had to get a hotel. We are staying at the Holiday Inn. We decided to go to the 12th street Tavern for a beer and to relax tonight, we had dinner there Friday Nov 1st. The bartender refused to serve us because of our glassy eyes. The 12th Street Tavern offers a delightful outdoor dining experience with attentive service and delicious food, including a club sandwich and Buffalo chicken sandwich. The restaurant provides a cozy and safe environment for a casual date night or quick meetup, with a friendly staff and clean facilities. The new manager has a humble servant's heart, assisting with cleaning, taking orders, and clearing tables, while also answering any questions. The establishment is a favorite neighborhood joint, with easy parking and a kid-friendly atmosphere, featuring a children's menu and TVs for sports viewing.
While the tavern has faced some organizational challenges in the past, such as long wait times for drinks and incorrect orders for larger groups, recent reviews highlight improvements. Some guests have enjoyed the cheese steak and green chile fries, praising the quick service and comfort food with a southwest kick. However, others experienced delays with their meals and expressed disappointment in the quality of certain dishes, like the tortilla burger, which was overcooked and dry. Despite these mixed reviews, the covered patio and inside seating remain appealing, and the tavern continues to be a place where the staff and regulars create a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. Gluten-free options are available for those with dietary restrictions.
