Good Food, Terrible Service
The food was actually good — no complaints there. Everything tasted fresh and was cooked well.
But the customer service completely ruined the experience. Our drinks didn’t come until after the appetizer and food were already out. The waiter barely checked on us, and it took way too long just to get the check.
When you’re spending around $60 for a sandwich, burger, and milkshake, you expect solid service to match. Unfortunately, that wasn’t the case.

Another great iconic restaurant bites the dust! Once an awesome place to get great food, quality service and plentiful portions (for the price), now mediocre at best.
They got our to go order wrong and forgot items. The mashed potatoes were really disgusting. (Must have changed the recipe?)

Hadn’t been here in a few years. Now I remember why! The food was mediocre at best. Our milkshakes (especially for the $$) were also very mediocre. Service lousy. Hopefully, it will improve if we decide to try it again in a few do years.

Classic old school dinner along Route 66. I had a hotdog and it was a full meal.

Enjoyed their grilled chicken sandwich. Later had their bacon and cheddar burger which was really delicious. Their milkshakes are remarkable and all at a reasonable price. Atmosphere is fantastic. Love the doo wop music. They gave out route 66 stickers for the centennial.

Went here back in 2018 and uh... DAYUM was this place as good as I remembered it 8 years ago and I WILL be back here again with my Fiancé to be served by Henry, the single greatest server I'd had in a my entire 21 years of living. He actually communicated the menu (including the desert menu) throughly and was super friendly to the point where I had to drop that 66% percent tip for the main guy at Route 66.

I'm here to confess - I lived in the Albuquerque area for 41 years and yesterday was my first visit to the diner. What took so long? Life. I must say that it's everything you want from a 1950s bit of nostalgia, but more than that, the shakes were everything I was told - cold, big, sweet, delicious. Of course, I had to try their version of a green chile cheeseburger and it was a monster! Had to go the Plan B route of using a knife and fork. Their choice of a potato bun was a great addition. Heed my warning and don't delay for a meal at the diner.

The restaurant looks exactly as you'd expect a restaurant on Route 66 to look. The waitress was great, the shake was large enough for three people, and the food was good.

66 Diner has been serving since 1987. Eating places don’t stay open that long without great food, service, and going above and beyond. Nice place.
