ABQ Sweet Spot

Little gem! They make the best Italian cookies, remind me of my Nona, and had such a beautiful experience at their cookie decorating class!!! It is a must do event you’ll never forget! !

For my birthday, I wanted some Joltik ( a pokemon) cupcakes. So I asked around, one place was going to charge me nearly 60 bucks for an edible image cupcake, but then I got into contact with Abq Sweet Spot, not only was the person I talked to over email super nice and accommodating about seeing if the cake decorator could, in fact, do cupcakes of one of my favorite little guys, but the decorator came in and knocked it out of the park with decorating them (also, they were yummy, but more importantly, look how cute these are!) 100% worth it. Great people, great cupcakes, adorable lil' guys made for my birthday.

I tried their cupcakes, brookies, cookies. Overall, really have not been impressed. the icing on the chocolate chip whoopies is very bland, perhaps buttercream would help there. the cupcakes, i do not know if they were old or what but, the sponge was kinda stale and the icing wasnt very sweet. Also, call me crazy but, I think cupcakes should be tossed every 2-3 days. they are cheap enough to make that its worth not giving out old stock. And the one thing that was up to par, the red velvet whoopy, kinda was overloaded with icing. Cream cheese is just very heavy, I had to remove about half of it and it was pretty good after that.

So their items just seem to suffer from being out of balance. Either its too much or too little on the sweet. but, I would reformulate the cupcake sponge if it was my business.

My husband order a chocolate cake from them for my 40th and it was so pretty and tasted great.

EVERYTHING IS TOP TIER but I would trade my kidney for their sugar cookies! ❤️

On February 13th I placed and paid $188.78 in full for a bithday cake for my daughter's 30th birthday in store. This was my first time ordering from a stand alone bakery. Unfortunately my daughter and her fiance became sick days prior to the cake pick up date of March 8th. I received a phone call on March 5th from the bakery that the production team was about to start on the cake. I explained that I needed to cancel due to the recent illness. We didn't want to expose grandparents and others coming from out of state to illness. I was told that I would only be refunded half of the money I paid in full. I do not understand that if the cake was not made why they choose to keep half of the money? This post is just a buyer beware as this left a negative experience with a stand alone bakery. Making money from a service that was not preformed. I received a refund of $87.50 less than half of what I paid. In response to your reply. You called asking what color macaroons to make. So how were they made already?

I ordered a cake and custom cookies from ABQ Sweet Spot for my baby shower. They were able to make what I wanted off of inspiration pics and everything looked exactly like I hoped it would. The cake was especially delicious and everyone thought it was fake because the icing was so perfect. The staff was super friendly too. I will definitely be going back in the future!
