The calabacitas have been cooked on the same grill for many years. Fantastic flavor. The chicharrones are like my Mom's. The natillas are so creamy, like my Grandma and Mom used to make.

This use to be a good restaurant but it has gone downhill. The service is the worst. Please hire more people. The waitress was very unfriendly and seem to be too busy to wait on our table.. Plus they charge you for everything. For a kids drink it was 3.50, for a refill on hot tea was 1.75 and to use your card was almost 2.00. The taco shells were not crispy, I got burnt rice and no cheese on the beans. We didn’t even get asked if we wanted chips and salsa.

Showed up at 6:20 and and said it would be 15 minute wait. Waited 15 minutes and then got told that told they are closed even though sign said 7pm ,, plenty of open tables and plenty of time to take my orders…

Atmosphere is the only pleasant thing in this building. Staff is very unwelcoming and rude. Especially the host. The food is really basic 👎🏼👎🏼

Always good. The green chile stew with a little bit of pork is always my favorite. My dining companion had three tacos. 🌮 They were so much for him, he had to take some home. Always recommend Abuelita's. Nice, calm, quiet spot in the South Valley. Check out the times to see if they are open. 😀

I grew up in the South Valley, I had to move to the West Coast to sea level due to a lung illness so I rarely get to come back. When I do, lately, I have been disappointed in the food. Most of the haunts I would patronize are now mediocre at best. It was so sad to come home and not leave a restaurant with a full belly and a smile.
My aunt who still lives in the valley suggested we go to dinner and she picked. I got the stuffed sopapillas chicken with Christmas. OMG, finally!!! It was spicy and had flavor, the portions were perfect, the staff accommodating and didn't have that air of annoyance most restaurants have now. (I get it, wages, housing etc.) It was refreshing. I went twice in 4 days and I'm missing it sorely right now. Thank you Abuelitas for keeping my faith in south valley culture and cuisine. It was an honor to dine at your establishment and I wish nothing but decades of serving the public your delicious dishes. Thank you!

The best flavors I've found in a long time. I ordered the combination plate. The relleno was crispy and had a nice bite (I had to bite back), the enchilada could have used some beef or chicken, and the taco had perfectly seasoned ground beef. Green chili to top it off. Highly recommend!

The staff is remarkably friendly & they treat you like family. The food is awesome! We loved our experience here ♥️ 💚
