The food and service was excellent. There is a focus on quality and flavor that shows through on the plate. You know it's authentic when the local Afgan population eats there, yet it's very inviting for those, like myself, that have never had Afgan food.
The food is solid and well-spiced, with flavors that feel different and interesting. The kabobs are a reliable choice and work well for anyone on a protein forward diet. The rice is aromatic, and the spicy dipping sauce is a plus since I enjoy heat.
The restaurant includes a floor-seating area for a different dining experience, along with regular tables on offer. It’s a straightforward spot that offers excellent food. Will be back!

Amazing staff and food. Was walking by and one of the staff members was leaving for the night. Had some food wrapped in foil. I didn't know they worked there and I just asked how the food was and if it was a good night. The young gentlemen told me about their business and gave me the food he had in his hand and it was amazing. Highly recommend this place. Great staff. Great food!

The food is a 10 out of 10, it's honestly my new comfort food. Saffron tea, yes. Chicken Karahi was very well prepared. I could go on about how amazing it was but you really should try it!

Finally felt limber enough to eat on the cushions! The Lamb Achar was excellent as usual. Generous portion, big chunks of tender just-fatty-enough lamb.
We wanted to try some afghani food, specially kebab. Every item was delicious. We had our little one with us and floor seating area was just perfect. Highly recommended, will definitely go back.

Tried this place for the first time today! The food is AMAZING. We got the beef kebab to share with orange and mango juice. The place is very cute/clean and they have patio seating.

So this place had its ups and downs. The food was delicious, I loved the decor and cleanliness. I especially loved the floor seating area. The thing that lacked for me was that we came for dinner here around 6:30 and they were already out of rice so we only had bread to eat with our sides and were limited with our other options. I’m not sure how you run out of rice at a restaurant that is busiest during dinner 🤔 and especially when the most popular afghani dish (qabali palao) isn’t available because of no rice…. It kind of discourages me to come again for fear that it won’t be available for us again. And although our entree’s were supposed to come with rice and didn’t, we were still charged full price for half the of the menu item. They said they couldn’t adjust the price, which was odd and frustrating The service was good but it was only one man doing everything, taking our orders, bringing the food, cleaning up, and it was pretty busy so I feel like they should hire more help. The dishes didn’t come with serving spoons so we used our own utensils, no napkins so you have to go up and ask for those as well. And every time you want more food you have to go up and wait in line for them to order it and bring to the table. The highlight dishes for us were the Manto and the chicken achari karahi. I would recommend this place if you’re getting takeout and if rice is an option, but otherwise I don’t think it’s worth the drive all the way out to downtown (which is already sketchy during the day so it’s just double crazy at night).

Incredible chicken tikka kebabs, excellent quality of food, and one of the friendliest, hardest working owners I’ve had the pleasure of meeting. Hope to come back someday.
Support this business y’all!

Stopped in and loved it. The owner was genuinely welcoming and made the experience feel personal. Flavors were bright and deeply seasoned, and everything tasted fresh. Casual seating and quick service made it easy.

This is one of the best restaurants in Albuquerque. The food is authentically Afghan. The rice is perfectly perfumed and cooked. I had the mahi-e-biryan and the fish was so crispy on the outside but flaky and moist on the inside. Will be coming back again and again!

Amazing gem! Just a short walk from the Albuquerque Convention Center....the food was absolutely delicious and the service was friendly and quick! Tender, juicey, flavorful lamb kebabs and the chubzi(?) Sauce was the perfect accompaniment. The rice was flavorful, yet simple. I HIGHLY recommend you give this locally owned restaurant a try!

I did not expect the food to be this good, their home made cutney had just the right amount of sour and spice. We had the lamb karahi, shami kabob and chicken kabob. The Lamb was perfect, no game smell to the meat, it was tender and the sauce was very delicious. The shaming kabob was tasty and went very well with the cutney. Should have eaten the chicken kabob first, it was good but after all the flavors of the first 2 dishes...wow. The chicken was nice and juicy and was what I expect for a chicken kabob. The owner was super nice and you could tell he loves making his customers happy and take pride in the quality of his dishes. We will definitely go back for more tasty dishes, can't wait to try the lamb shank!!!
