If I could give 10 stars I would. Was my second home for many years that I'm returning to- its a wasteland out there of rude self loathing corporate service workers but Anodyne has always stayed true to its name and service as an actual anodyne.
Parking: Its downtown so get over it and dont risk violating parking rules down here or you will be victim of a rackateering downtown parking system.
Kid-friendliness: Any one who brings a kid into a bar is an idiot.

Drinks are good, pool is cheap and the vibe is hard to match. Place is great if you looking for that chill out vibe and the service has been great too.

A great place to get a drink (before 10pm if you’re older than 30). Prices, service and quality are all exactly what you’ll enjoy from this place!

Cool chill spots for some pool
Great bar. Very busy, good atmosphere. Drinks are affordable and strong. Don't mess with the plants or pool tables! They WILL kick you out.
They over serve some people while they cut off a person in my group after 1 drink. The person at the front door is just looking for any reason to exercise power. It’s a bar. People come here to drink. These people need to relax. Once they told us that they weren’t serving the person anymore we were okay with leaving and they took their time to give me my cards back while passive aggressively asking what my problem is. I’m never rude to service workers and I know they only talked to me like this because I was nice.
Must visit for the ABQ was in town for business. Pool tables and chill atmosphere. Bar tenders where on point drinks decently priced.
Great drinks and great atmosphere.
Fun place

This place need to revalue their rules to let you in. It’s very discriminatory. The simple fact that you’re not allowed in for having one, a paper VALID ID or a VALID AND LEGAL work permit is discrimination at its finest. Literally every other bar in the ABQ lets you In with either of those. And their bouncers response once you question them on why it isn’t allowed just sounds like they don’t care to explain it to you and gives you stupid reasons. Please check that out.
Great atmosphere and great bar tenders!
I had not been to this place in over 2 decades. I used to love going there so I thought I would check it out again. The place is virtually the same. The pool tables are nice so they are maintained. The music is still great. The staff is something altogether different. The humorless douchebag behind the bar would walk away from you as soon as you walked up to order something. The waitress stood next to the bar but never wandered over to our table once in the 90 minutes we were there. When it is about 40 minutes from closing time, they pretty much kick you out. We are talking midnight so nowhere close to being required to stop selling alcohol. It doesn't matter if the place is still full of people. 11:30 and it is time to get out. The staff really wants to get home to their uneventful, personality-free lives. I will likely not return.
If Zero was a rating they'd be wearing it like a prize pig. Off color comments from the bartender juxtapose the beauty of this establishment by an (alleged server). Green thumb points = 10/10.. .staff are hit and miss. But the plants are gorgeous...so kudos to whomever does those!
they wouldn’t let me have a water bottle ? at a bar ? where people drink alcohol ? and you’re not allowed a water bottle ? ? ?
