Artichoke Cafe is one of Albuquerque’s finest restaurants. The food is fresh and artfully presented. The ambience is warm and cozy and the staff is friendly and unpretentious. It’s a lively place, but the noise level doesn’t suppress conversation. Excellent cocktails, adequate wine list

We made reservations. We were seated quickly. The place was completely booked. Our server was lovely. Answered all our menu questions. Dinner didn't take as long as I expected, with the crowd. Pleasant surprised. The food was fabulous!

Ordered the green chili cheeseburger from the very limited lunch menu. Fries were burnt, the chili had no heat and the hamburger meat was tasteless. The potato bun was not toasted so it all fell apart. Bartender was great and the drink was good. For $18, I would expect a better burger though.

Driven by this place dozens of times & have no clue why I haven’t stopped in. Our daughter & her friends recommended it. 10/10 would recommend! It was DELIGHTFUL! Started with a lavender margarita & fried artichoke. For the main, I got the pork chop served over peaches & cabbage. (I haven’t stopped thinking about that chop since … 😋) My sister got the sea bass, also scrumptious. We ended the meal splitting a chocolate torte. Can’t wait to come back & dive a little deeper into the menu.

The first night of our two-week vacation in New Mexico began with a so-so experience at the Artichoke Cafe. It was a busy Saturday night and we had made online reservations via Resy so we entered with high hopes for this well-reviewed eatery. But there's something unsettling about being shown to the worst table in the house -- the one closest to the exit from the busy open kitchen. We could have complained, but we didn't want to come across as whiny out-or-towners. Our friendly server (Ariana B.) soon soothed our frazzled airport traveler nerves with two excellent cocktails - a Mezcal Negroni ($17) and a Mojito ($16). An appetizer of Fried Artichoke Hearts ($14) soon did tasty honor to the Cafe's name -- If we'd just ordered a second delectable batch and called it a night, we would have returned full and satisfied to our nearby hotel (the Parq Central). But we moved on to main courses and soon wished we hadn't. My dining companion's half chicken ($28) was fine, but how can anyone mess that up? I was intrigued by the thick-cut pork chop ($38), highly recommended by Ariana, but I worried it might be overcooked. Oh no, Ariana assured me, our kitchen always cooks the pork chop on the rare side, especially when I request that. Alas, not this night. The pork chop arrived well-done, dry as toast, a beautiful piece of meat defiled. As I told Ariana when she inquired. She insisted on returning it to the kitchen and asking for another pork chop to be fired up correctly. The second one was better, but more medium than rare, exactly the opposite of what I'd expected for a re-order. It is amazing how such a major screw-up can disrupt and color a dining night out. Ariana remained cheerful and helpful and solicitous to us as everyone else's dinners rushed by our table, a dizzying blur. She was the best part of our dinner even if the artichoke hearts were exemplary. At least the Saturday dinnertime scene at the Artichoke kept us entertained. The popular restaurant seemed to attract a wide variety of celebrants, especially friends and families, plus couples on a special night out. The closest table to ours offered a tete a tete worthy of Hollywood. A tall 70-ish film producer-type was putting his well-oiled moves on a 20-ish blonde aspiring actress in a very skimpy black dress. They could have charged admission to watch their little drama.
Good food. Pricey. Wait staff very nice/attentive. Male manager did not acknowledge nor approach our table. Watched him mingle with other guests.

We were passing through town. Stopped for dinner. Great service. They had a parking lot so parking was easy. Didn't have a reservation and we were seated at the bar without any wait. Noemi served us. She was great help, had good recommendations and was still able to keep up with all her orders. I highly recommend eating here. Atmosphere is good. I would come again.

The Artichoke Café has the formula. A highly desirable venue for creative, fresh, trendy food selections worthy of a James Beard nomination. The service is friendly, knowledgeable and dedicated to making your experience a pleasant one. This very clean restaurant has a Las Vegas vibe providing “just the right” level of volume to of music to allow for good conversation. The highly skilled bartender will expertly provide you with original house -inspired cocktials. A great choice for a dating couple or visiting with a number of friends. The entrees are pace-setting, service is happily provided, pricing is reasonable, all the checkboxes are checked…a real gem of a find !
