One of the best restaurants I’ve had in Abq in a very long time!! Everything was so good from the fried alligator to the stuffed chicken to the service!

Fun vibe. Lots of room and tvs, great place to watch a game. The food was good once it finally arrived. The kitchen lost our ticket so we had to wait quite a while but our server Emma ended up being so nice and helpful that it made up for it. Would go back because of her service.

First time eating here and the wings were outstanding and the sweet tea was delicious!! We had a quick business meeting here so we only ordered the wings this round. I will definitely be back to try the other items on the menu! The manager (maybe owner?) came over to our table to make sure everything was to our liking as well. You just don't get that type of service these days. Keep up the great work Bama's 1865!!

Would be a great pregame spot if you are going out or wanting to watch sports with big screens. The service was very mediocre, our drinks (beer) took about 10 mins to get, our appetizer bayou shrimp took about 45 mins to come out and was likely sitting under the food lamp to stay warm, it was over cooked and chewy, seasoning was good though. We had the gulf coast classic and the catfish was really good, oysters were not good, the shrimp were good. Second plate was Pasta Mardi Gras, it was good but I was kind of expecting a lot more flavor. The menu looks incredible and makes you want to come try other things, undecided if that will happen. Hoping this place picks up because it has great potential.

Four of us went here for brunch last Sunday . It was our first time trying it and we will be back. I ordered the wings with ‘Bama white sauce and blackened shrimp and grits. Both were delicious. I had to hunt down a bottle of hot sauce from the bar to get the heat level up to where I enjoy it.Id like to see a bigger hot sauce selection . There was Tabasco and one other kind. I recommend Secret Aardvark . Cholula is very popular here in New Mexico. We are a spice loving place . The food was well seasoned without much heat . I enjoy a spice level that builds in the back of the throat . I’d kick it up a notch or two in the cayenne department myself to get people hooked . Not looking to over do it , but rich food like this needs a little heat to make it crave worthy and . I really enjoyed talking with the chef/owner . He made us feel welcomed and appreciated . It elevated the experience to hear his story . We were behind two large parties and he brought us some delicious corn bread and honey butter to keep us happy while we waited for our main courses. The brick interior and dark wood tables make the vibe legit NOLA. The Bloody Mary was delicious and the blackened shrimp on it got me to change my order to ensure that I got many more of them . I appreciate all that he is offering . I wish him success . Bama 1865 will be in my restaurant rotation. I’m going to bring a bottle of Secret Aardvark with me to see what you think chef. I am happy to I have gulf coast cuisine available in Burque again after a long drought.

I would like to give the chef his props bc the food was amazing, but the SERVICE!!!! The waiters were horrible, waited for another drink for 30Minutes and my waitress never came back to see if I needed another drink, I walk to the bar to get my own, the bartender is outside smoking a cigarette so I waited forever, who leaves the bar with that many people sitting around it?

First, the food. I ordered the Jambalaya. It was not good. Very, very dry. The chicken in it was also overcooked. The 3 pcs of shrimp on top were delicious and cooked separately, I'm sure. Very large place, it's an old Salt Yard for those who know what that is. Lots of video games, pool tables, etc. Large area of living room type seating. I was excited about having the creole food but they messed it up. 2 others in our party didn't care for their food either. Also be prepared for a 20% upcharge for service added for a party of 6 or more, that didn't set well either.

I can't leave a review of the food as we came to the establishment to see the band - who was AMAZING, Michael Matison & The Kats - and even after flagging down a waitress could not place an order for food or drinks.Got our drinks from the bar, easy enough, and they were good. Wish we could have tried the food as the menu looked like it had tasty options. It's not like the place was packed to not be able to get orders.Another shout out to Michael Matison & The Kats, if you haven't seen them perform, what are you waiting for???
