Avoid this restaurant as it has terrible food, poor service, and the ambiance is outdated.
To start with the atmosphere, it looks like a restaurant from the 80s that never upgraded any infrastructure. The outside of the building is completely dark at night, and the inside has very OK lighting.
But that doesn’t even begin to describe all the issues with the food.
Everything you order is some frozen, prepackaged food that is reheated.
The calamari strips are not fresh, it’s a terribly small portion, and some parts of it were still frozen.
The crabcakes have an extremely fishy smell, and the ratio of crab to breading is so bad. You almost can’t taste or see any crab.
The onion rings taste like something you get out of the grocery store.
The mac & cheese is a solid block and has no flavor.
The grilled chicken is pretty dry with some parts inedible.
And last, don’t order the cookie dessert. As you can see in the photo, what they serve it’s supposed to be a cookie skillet, but it was an abomination. I can’t believe the restaurant actually felt OK giving the order as shown in the photo. Additionally, the ice cream that it is serve served with has so much actual ice in it.
The worst part was that it took well over an hour to get the food. Almost close to 1.5 hours, and I had to pay for the meal 40 minutes before it had even arrived.
When the food did arrive, they let me know. It had been sitting in the back for a while, but they were pending some other items. This was quite noticeable as all of the food dishes were room temperature/cold.
If you do a to go order, the restaurant does not provide you with any silverware or napkins.
Staff are not friendly, management is not embarrassed at the quality of the food, and they do not even try to make it right. Do not come here.

Black Angus just isn't what it is to be. The service is subpar. The waiter sat in an open chair to take our order. Took a long time to bring refills, and the food was a little cold. The NY Strip that I had was very fatty and had a lot of gristle. Disappointing.
We've always loved Black Angus and have been going to the Albuquerque location for over 40 years. Always consistently good for quality of the food and service!
Our server was excellent. The shrimp cocktail was disappointing. The blue cheese dressing & pumpkin cheesecake were delicious!
Delicious food at a reasonable price, large variety of items to choose from and excellent service. Would definitely go back.
Very nice steakhouse. Very quiet. Hostess and server were both very personable and efficient. Food delicious. Menu had lots of variety
My husband and I made a reservation for our birthday dinner. We waited for maybe five bites and were sat in a large booth. The restaurant was quiet, everyone was polite, and the good was perfect. We will definitely be returning!
New waiter in training. Had no support and items ordered not correct. Long wait time. Food OK.
Our waitress was wonderful, she was always right there, helping us out and offering suggestions for food items.
I ordered a filet steak and twin lobsters, the steak was the smallest steak that I have seen in my life and the lobsters were undercooked.
Restaurantji Recommends
Making a reservation was quick and simple. The staff were attentive and friendly, the service was outstanding, and the food was absolutely delicious. I give Black Angus Steakhouse a 10/10 and highly recommend it!
Food was excellent. Significant issues getting the beer we wanted. The draft beer options were ZERO, completely out!! Then the bottled beer was an issue. Literally out of stock with the first three selections. Finally I settled for a Pacifico. Really disappointing.
Me and my wife just love going here, We enjoy it cuz we love steak and we don't have to wait so much to go and eat, all these other popular places you got to wait 45 minutes or so, over here you don't got to wait and you still get a good experience.
Ate in the bar off the dining hall menu. One glass of wine, grilled chicken, salad, mac cheese then husband had wedge salad, grilled vegetables, and a steak. While the bar was not busy, it was busy enough for one server. Can't remember her name but she was fantastic. Kept remembering we were there by checking on us. Food was timely and delicious. We would definitely go back.
Food and service as great as always but the A/C wasn't working well. The fans they placed in some of the walkways just couldn't more air into the e booths and it was quite warm.
