So my experience here started out negatively, because the food they brought out was not what I ordered. But they were so kind about fixing it that they actually ended up bringing out extra food. Which was amazing service!!! and then the tamale that I had which was the mushroom one, it was so delicious I wanted to lick the banana leaf it came on. The salad was very good and very fresh, and the fact that the broccoli that was with it was very slightly grilled made it amazing. I will definitely be back

Love the new restaurant space. Chicharonne Casado was delicious and their Yucca fries are always a family favorite.

One of the most amazing and delicious restaurants to go to for mixed dietary. We crave the vegan mushroom and tapanade tamales, and our kids can't get enough of their chicken quesadilla. A must go!

Absolutely delish! We ordered a staff lunch from here and everything was spectacular. The arroz con pollo, chicharron, ropa vieja, and yucca fries are a must-try.

DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND EAT HERE!!!

We happened on the amazing little place when the restaurant we were planning on going to was closed. WE ARE SO VERY LUCKY!! This was hands down some of the best food I have ever had in my life!! Amazing depth of flavor in every dish. The empanadas were so flaky, and even with the very juicy shredded beef they did not get soggy at all.
The nachos had delicious shredded chicken with amazing black beans and I kid you not, cheese like I have never tasted on nachos. I don’t know what kind of magic she put in them, and I love me all kinds of cheese so I eat it a lot, these were the best nachos I have ever had.
My son also had a strawberry smoothie made with coconut cream that I was ready to fight him for (I didn’t, I let him have it, but it crossed my mind).
Last and definitely not lest, the shredded beef bowl. I LOVE sweet plantains. I will go out of my way to find them, so I was excited to see a dish with them. I was not disappointed in any way!! The juicy beef, that was perfectly seasoned with just a little tiny kick of spice, mixed with perfectly cooked rice and black beans that I could eat all alone for a meal, we combined with magical sweet plantains. I am a carnivore, I always want meat with a meal, and I would happily surrender even this incredible beef to have all the plantains.
On top of all of this amazing food, the staff was incredible. I felt like we were eating dinner at a new friends house. They were that welcoming and even at closing time were so nice and accommodating (next time we will make sure we get there earlier).
There were 5 of us that shared these 3 dishes and it was plenty, and we are fluffy people!😁😁😁 i had to compose myself when I was saying thank you to them for providing such an amazing meal and an incredibly affordable price. Less than $100, after tip, for an authentic and mind blowing meal for 5.
This will be our new go to in old town AND THEY ARE OPENING A NEW ONE BY Barela’s next month. I can’t wait to try their breakfast menu there.

Food was authentic Costa Rican food = casados, which I personally enjoy. Very tasty, flavorful, filling portions. The staff and owners were welcoming and friendly. You order at the counter. I will go again when I pass through downtown Albuquerque. Dining inside is limited but there is more seating in the courtyard.

Man, this is a great place. Very clean good food done extremely well. Don't be intimidated by the menu if you've not had south American cuisine (not Mexican) food. Everything has a ton of flavor and very well balanced across the dish. I had a bowl with shredded beef and the yucca fries. Think of a highly elevated burrito bowl with much more intricate flavors. Make sure you get the hot sauce for the bowl, it's not that hot and adds great flavor. Great place to get food. If you plan on dining indoors, they only have a few tables, so know that you'll likely be dining outdoors, dress accordingly. There are heaters outside for the outdoor dining. All that said, this is a fantastic place with healthy delicious food.

Sitting on a scenic patio while sipping cucumber basil fresca and watching the Historic Route 66 traffic in the glow of a neon sign is like a time warp to yesteryear. The heyday of highway travel where every stop was an adventure waiting to happen - exactly like the food at Buen Privecho with it's authentic Costa Rican cuisine. The sweet plantains are not to be missed. The yucca fries had just a touch of heat to them to tempt the pallete of any chile-loving New Mexican.
