The prices have gone up but the food is still very good and they still have a nice atmosphere. We always come early afternoon and the wait staff is very good.

Yo. I just got the bacon, sausage, burrito with green chili … I’m in love. I’m typically not a spicy guy but the chili was more of a kick in flavor vs spicy. Five stars, no doubt about it.

Excellence all around. Beautiful patio, great service, good food and very clean inside. Thank you all for taking pride in how your resturant is ran.

My family made a reservation for 10 people at another restaurant. When we arrived they had no record of a reservation and said there would be a 60 minute wait. I called Casa de Benavidez to see if they could fit us in. They agreed and had a table ready when we arrived, 10 minutes later. The food and service were outstanding! I highly recommend for any event or family get together. This will be our new go to spot for mexican food! 👌

If I could give it zero stars today I would. It was very disappointing.
Our waiter took our order and came out to talk to us about 10 minutes later. He informed us that the cook refused to make the carne adovada chimichanga. He said the cook said there was only enough carne adovada for the enchilada plates, the chimichanga takes a lot of carne adovada.
Why would they have it on their menu if the cook refuses to make it? When I asked if I could speak with the manager, I was told by the woman that checks you in to be seated (she's been there a long time) that the cook was also the manager and he makes the decisions. We were shocked!
Shortly after the waiter said the cook said he can make the chimichanga with chicken but will not make it with carne adovada. I said no thank you, I came to eat the carne adovada chimichanga.
We felt bad for the waiter, he was very kind and was put in a bad situation by the cook/manager.
One thing I will say is the staff has always been very friendly and attentive in the restaurant and take out area.
This is what has kept us going there for years.

An Unforgettable Group Lunch at Casa de Benavidez a true gem of a restaurant I couldn't recommend this place more if you like great food and great service.

My coworkers and I recently had a fantastic lunch at Casa de Benavidez. There were 15 of us, so we expected some hiccups, but the service was truly amazing. Our waitress took every single order without writing a thing down and still managed to get them all exactly right! Not a single mistake was made.
The food itself was outstanding. My plate was loaded with delicious, authentic New Mexican cuisine, and it was clear everyone else felt the same way. At the end of the meal, there were nothing but empty plates all around. Only three people had to-go boxes, and that was only because the portions were so generous they couldn't finish it all. This place is definitely a great spot for a large group. The service is top-notch, and the food is even better. We'll absolutely be back!

When we arrived , we were told it was 25 minutes to wait. We waited closer to an hour. Once seated, everyone enjoyed the selection of drinks and the server was great. Entertainment was one guitarist and he played rock tunes, not the Latin-based music one may expect which some in our group didn't like. Note- the steak is not recommended. Otherwise the other entrees we tried were good. Nothing amazing, but tasty.

The food is fabulous with an awesome atmosphere wether you are seated inside or outside. The staff is very professional. Their enchiladas are delicious. The deserts were fabulous. There were 5 of there and the cost was about 20 a person including chips, drinks, and salsa lunch for five and desert! What a bargain for such a fantastic venue!

The wait was over an hour, seemed very unnecessary, yet employees were standing around.
We ended up leaving and I still have not experienced this place.

This was one of two recommendations from our friends for sampling. Typical Southwest cuisine in the Albuquerque area. There’s plenty of parking, but if you wish to go into the restaurant must enter on the opposite side across from the main road rather than the side parking lot entrance or they have a takeout area. I would say the lunch special burrito that I got was fine. I did not realize that my concept of a burrito being wrapped in a tortilla is not the same here as they put the Fixin‘s in and then just fold the tortilla over. Flavor was OK but not outstanding. I was certainly full at the end. My wife got a tostada salad and she was disappointed. The shell seemed fresh and crisp, but otherwise fairly tasteless. They have a water feature outside the dining area, which has lots of carp swimming around. I would say that given it was a Tuesday it’s relatively popular. We’ll probably try someplace else next time.
