Passing through town, this place was recommended to me. I am really happy I came. The chile relleno's were spot on and would recommend. As an added plus, the mariachi band was great and unexpected.

The Mexican food is delicious and authentic. The portions are large. I had plenty of leftovers. My margarita was yummy. We love to sit at the bar, Kyle B was our bartender. He is great! This is definitely the best place in Albuquerque to eat. We pass through twice a year, and this is our go-to stop. Fun seasonal note. It was decorated awesome for Halloween.

Waited on the phone on hold to place an order to go for over 10 minutes before walked over then waited another 5 to have the waiter take my order with only 2 table's in que. price is way high for 2 single burritos 27.98 and 2 enchiladas plates 29.50 and a convenience fee of 1.97 plus tax of 4. 65!

The atmosphere at Cervantes is very appealing. We had great seating. The location was in a pretty rough part of town. The service by our waitress was good but we waited 45 minutes to get our food whereas customers that came in after us were served almost immediately. When we got the food, I ordered 2 flat tortilla cheese enchiladas and got one tortilla, drowned in sauce and a mound of lettuce. My dates meal was even worse. The manager or someone helping clear tables started ranting about homeless people, City Mayor and Governor -which is unacceptable in a business. I commented to add the President which she came back with how much she liked him and so on. After that our service went downhill!! I am sad that all of this was such a disappoint as I had heard many great things about Cervantes but I will not go back!!

It's a good idea to request your green chili on the side as it is hot, hot, hot. More variety of 'no meat' meals could be offered.

Fun place to stop! Tamales were some of the best my husband ever had. Great enchilada plate. Red sauce was killer. Taco salad good but mild seasoning. Margarita A++ and sophapia (?) was quite good as well. Server, Kyle was fantastic, great energy and service.

The place has a surreal, old world decor and ambience. The food was authentic New Mexican, very tasty. Green and red Chile, both delicious, red is a little spicier. The sopapillas were amazing. Staff and service was fast, attentive and friendly. Checked all our boxes. Will definitely visit again. Top choice in ABQ for new Mexican cuisine.

It never cease to amaze me how charming the Spanish colonial, New Mexican ambience is. The food always gives me my NM food fix. The homemade chips and salsa alone almost make it worth it.
