It was good food at a good price. Many options for custom hot dog combos and toppings. Chile dogs, Chili dogs, or whatever you'd like. Both vegetarian and vegan options as well as filling sides, appetizers, salads, and large plates. Owner actively involved working the floor, bussing, cooking not just "supervising". Hidden local gem.
Kid-friendliness: Kid options. They can make simple hot dogs and get simple sides.

Best hotdog I’ve ever had. Manageable prices and a tasteful… clowny… ambience :) that might be clown-traversal to say!

Gluten free corndogs?! Get in my belly! I was so stoked! Delicious. I love all the topping options! I have a corn dog with chipotle maple sauce and stone ground mustard and an order of the fried cheese. I was so stoked I almost forgot to take a photo. The only food suggestion i have is a sharper cheese in the fried cheese - the cheese was so mild it was overpowered by the corn dog batter. That being said I'd still order it again as it. So so yummy. Can't wait to go again and I have my GF friends in Colorado pumped about making a trip to ABQ for this gluten free treat!
Now for the critisism: the atmosphere is kinda weird or at least it was the day I went. Decorated circus style, but feels like a sports bar with football on TV and overall low energy vibe in the place.

Stay away if your afraid of clowns but, definitely stop here if you want a good hotdog. There was a lot of great options and a couple of weird ones bt the food was delicious. They also have fantastic gluten free choices too like onion rings and fried cheese. I was pleasently surprised.

Best Chicago Dog in the city. Overall, 100,000 times better and more consistent than Urban. The staff is more attentive and friendlier. Great beers too. 11/10, highly recommend.

By @iwanttobewhatieat Look, if you’re going to go to @clowndogabq, you’re just going to have to send it. You’re going to have to lose all sense of self and order half the menu because you can’t decide if Froot Loops or popcorn is the better choice on top of bacon or peanut butter. In your life full of bad decisions, I can assure you this whole thing is a good idea. Lean all the way into it and do it all. Then get the loaded tater tots, just in case there’s a slight bit of sanity left. No point in pointing things out—it was all EPIC. My lifelong question of whether Froot Loops would be good on peanut butter and sauerkraut has finally been answered, and the answer is: it sure Pho King is.
