Great sushi and service! A lot of food for the price. I really liked the atmosphere. It was busy but still easy to have a conversation. The temperature was in the low 80's and they opened the bay doors, which was really nice.

This was probably the worst place I've eaten at in ABQ. tl;dr terrible service, wrong order, and a possible case of food poisoning. I never write reviews even if I'm disappointed, so you know how much I disliked our experience.

Service: Horrible. The first red flag was when we walked in and were completely ignored by the waitress. We thought she might have been busy and let it slide, but a group came in behind us and they were immediately helped leaving us standing there confused. We were absolutely dumbfounded and what I assume was one of the kitchen staff had to seat us. Both of the waitresses ignored us the whole time and we were helped by said kitchen staff (no shade to him, it's great that he stepped up and I appreciate him) and who I assume was the owner. We didn't get drinks for 10 minutes and food for 30.

Vibes: It was kinda cool looking. Very maximalist and cozy. The table was dirty though with stains and liquid underneath the glass top. The soy sauce was served in a syrup container which meant that if you wanted soy sauce, you poured out an entire ocean of the stuff.

Food: I ordered the Jalapeno Roll which according to the menu had jalapeno, cream cheese, tuna, and crab. Sounds tasty! What I got was a roll that looked like they took a meat tenderizer to it. It was so flat and falling apart. The best part? There was no tuna and no cream cheese. It was mountains of crab piled into a full jalapeno skin with nothing else. I didn't even get ginger or wasabi with my roll (but my boyfriend did - I took some of his and it was obviously the cheap wasabi you get in a tube at Wal-Mart). No one came around to our table again so I couldn't ask for them to fix it. It was overall quite bland and we couldn't finish it.

Aftermath: We took the leftovers home to not waste food but later decided that we would toss out the leftovers after the dog and cat wouldn't eat the plain fish nigiri. And now I feel ill today and can barely eat crackers and plain rice without feeling nauseous. I won't blame it on the restaurant, but sure is a coincidence.

I have no idea how this place has such good reviews, but personally I would stay far, far away and try any other sushi place in the city.

The saltiest miso soup I’ve ever had, I diluted it with my water… They were not prepared. Didn’t have spoons for our miso right away. No alcohol to serve but the restaurant has alcohol bottles as decoration. Sushi was not flavorful and made me feel a little queasy right after eating. Went over to cheba hut to get something else to eat. All in all my most disappointing sushi experience.

The place was packed and the food was fantastic!

It was like eating in Japan. The decor is so magical and beautiful and the sushi is the bomb! It was crazy busy the night we left. It was worth the wait for the sushi. Will be back for sure.

Sushi has too much rice, rice is bland. And the rolls are poorly assembled.

We got denied service at the beginning by being overwhelmed with clients but they ended up giving us a table before leaving the place (we were trying to find a spot to eat). Serving sizes are huge and sushi rolls are pretty good!

This place is the best but I need people to stop coming so much because it’s hard to get in before they run out of food these days

This place gave the coziest sushi experience I’ve ever had! The decorations are so warm and inviting. The staff didn’t speak English but they were quite sweet. They give you a menu to check off what you want to order. I like to order off of the 50% off menu. Their prices are so cheap for the excellent quality. They make it fresh to order and the rolls are quickly served within 10-15 minutes. “Sex on the beach” and one with steak on top from the 50% off menu were crazy good!! You probably only need to get one roll per person cus their portions are pretty big!! This place is truly a hidden gem. I’d recommend this to anyone with a sushi craving!

Me and everyone else in my household has gotten food poisoning from here. If you want sushi but don't want to spend the next day wrenching your guts out, avoid this place.
Want to add that only one of the people working there looked like they wanted to be there. Everyone else looked upset, not surprised I got sick in hindsight since the cook looked like he just wanted us all to leave

Great sushi bar.

I don't like writing bad reviews but the service is really really bad. I went in a 6 PM and thought maybe I found my new favorite restaurant but they just said “no” nothing else. I'd recommend elsewhere. Maybe go to yoshimame, they have unlimited sushi for just as a good of a deal and don't close at 6 randomly on weekdays. Food was fine the first time I ate there.
Disappointing. There is a huge language barrier as well so you may need some patience (although I’m Chinese and speak the same language as them) and they’re equally as rude lol

We went in and they were rude. Told us "no" and shook his head but said nothing more. There are only 6 of them. so ridiculous

this place is hands-down the best place to get sushi in town. I love the all you can eat miso soup, the sushi rolls are huge! Also, they are super affordable!
