We went there last week since I had been craving the fried combo basket. I was happy to finally get it. It was delicious. What I was disappointed in was the prices and what you get for those high prices. I couldn't decide what I wanted so I got the taco burgers. They were pretty good. Just too greasy for my taste, when she brought them out, the taco shell had a pool of oil at the bottom. And I got a very small portion of fries. For $11 I just don't think it's worth it. Next time, I'll go to Bob's! Haha. My husband's burger was a decent size for a little cheaper but what really made me mad was the wings my daughter got. She was indecisive of what dipping sauce she wanted with them so she decided to get barbecue and ranch. She said the wings were pretty good. When we got our ticket to pay, they charged us $2 extra for a sauce. I wish she would have told us that because we would have only gotten one! I'm sorry but for a tiny container and you're charging $2 extra for barbecue she didn't eat and that tastes like McDonald's... It's pretty ridiculous. So with our appetizers and meals included, it ended up costing us almost $80 before tip and we only got waters and 1 beer. I'd rather go to Monte Carlo and spend that on a steak with the fried mushrooms and zucchini. Waitress wasn't the friendliest either. She wasn't rude or anything just not personable or friendly. I didn't see her smile or laugh once. Which was weird to me.... Now I know why there was hardly anyone there. Bummer... now I know better.

Ok, what a cool vibe..definitely a locals Bar. Everyone was absolutely cool. We were greeted by the owner with shots. Nice surprise. Next time in Albuquerque we will definitely drop in!

I love the people and the vibes but the food is terrible. I got the green chili chicken plate and it's all chili. There was hardly any tortilla and the tortilla that was on the plate was hard and tastes like a corn tortilla straight out of the bag.

Definitely a strange place. It was Our first and definitely our last time coming here. One of the security guards was a complete freaking Weirdo he kept staring at women and trying to talk to them. Eventually he drove most of the women away so we also left.Please teach your security guards about some basic respect and to do their jobs not creep out your potential clients. It was a very bad vibe..Also online it says opened until 1:30 am but they closed at 1130pm. So the hours should definitely be updated. All in All downtown would have been a better vibe and what place closes at 1130 on a Saturday Night..The Male Bartender was very kind. Thank you for the shots of Water. ?

We like neighborhood bar and grills that make us feel comfortable. Plus, the food needs to be good. We live close to Effingbar and enjoy going here for a casual meal and beer. The service has always been quick and friendly no matter how crowded it is. A lot of local regulars go here but it's not a "rough crowd" not at all. We go in the afternoon; I can't vouch for the evening clientele. Prices are reasonable. Our favorite meal is the red chile enchiladas. So good. Sometimes we play trivia. Overall, I'd rather eat here than Sobremesa, the expensive brewpub that is nearby. Effingbar seems to have gotten the formula right: good food, good service, friendly/casual atmosphere, reasonable prices.

We drive through Albuquerque on our way to Phoenix and found this local bar. We try to stop here every time we are in town. Weekends are very busy but we are retired so we get there early and leave early. :) Not fancy, just our style--love it.
