A must in you're eating in Abq. Best Carne Adovada in the city bar none...no matter what youre getting, get it with a side of carne, and add in a sopapilla and enjoy!

I live in Texas and I can’t get any good New Mexican food there. When I come to town I am trying to look for my fix of New Mexico food. This place was delicious and satisfied my craving. The potatoes were cooked and seasoned great. The portions are great and leave you full and happy. The customer service was friendly and our waiter was very attentive. I wish I could give this place more stars. Will be returning next time I am in town.

Sweet sopapillas and just the right spice in their chile. A New Mexican gem in an old house.

The people who work for El Patio went above and beyond to ensure my wife (who recently got diagnosed with Celiac’s and can’t have gluten) had a wonderful experience eating here! 100% would recommend to anyone but especially anyone with concerns of cross contamination with gluten👌 Also the food was fantastic!😋

Food was excellent and the atmosphere was wonderful. Calm and laid back. Our server was nice but not as attentive as we would have liked. It took a while for refills and she forgot a to go box. But she seemed like she might be newish? Nothing to get mad about but it could have been just a bit better. Either way great place good food and prices.

This little hole in the wall, off the beaten path is one of finest Mexican food places in the City, close to UNM, and better than the Cafeteria style of locations around the area.
The food was fantastic....the Grilled Fish Tacos are really good...but with all the stuffing that goes inside, it's better to be served with a flour tortilla than corn. My wife loved the Stuffed Sopapilla and Papa's plate so much with the sauce and freshness that she didn't have room for the dessert Sopapilla, so my youngest son got it.
The service was excellent and this place has been around for decades.
We found another place to visit when in Albuquerque.

This place is a local treasure. As someone born and raised in Albuquerque who moved away, I stop by here whenever im in town to see family. The food is delicious and the service is always friendly. They have great red chile and sopapillas and there are even good vegetarian options.

Great employees and good vibes, but the food isn’t that amazing. It’s a bit pricey, and meat isn’t included—you’re charged an extra $5 with the meal.
Won’t come back here again.

As a native New Mexican, this is one of my top 3 local spots I enjoying visiting. The staff is just top notch, great humans. Always a pleasure & much gratitude!

I first visited about 10 years ago on a work trip and made note. Found myself in ABQ again and returned. I was not disappointed! The green chili enchilada was flavorful (yes, I like spice) and noted the corn tortillas. The sopapilla was hot and airy. I had both on this trip at other places (in ABQ and SF). El Patio still topped them all (both in product and price).

My past experience with El Patio has always been favorable. Tonight was different. We were asked to seat ourselves, not a problem except then no one waited on us. We were given our drinks and menus then they forgot us. It is customary in Albuquerque for Mexican restaurants to serve tortilla chips for free, $5.00. OUTRAGEOUS. The food came to the table in a reasonable time but again we were for forgotten. Not a pleasant evening
The food is always pretty good. Spice is right too. The things that lack here are that the kitchen is very slow, the service is hit or miss, and the prices are much higher than other/similar places in the area. It’s a worth going to place to check out or if you have folks visiting.
We had a tremendous meal at El Patio near CNM thanks to both the food and the service. They accommodated our group of eight with no issues (including three kids) and food came out quickly even with some warning that items might take longer. The variety of (soft) drinks was great given the option to add strawberry or prickly pear puree to lemonade or tea. Both the green and red chiles were delicious and the sopapillas light and fluffy. Our waiter took great care of us; glasses never went empty and he made sure the kids' food came out fast. We would absolutely go back when back in ABQ.
