This restaurant is a hidden gem! The food was absolutely fantastic! Mexican true and true not New Mexican. Everything we bought was great and a great price. The service could have been better but overall a great experience.

It's literally the BEST Mexican food I have ever had in Albuquerque N.M. 👏
Everything we got was so tasty we ate it every last bite . 😋
We got a Carne Asada Sope, a Carne Asada Gordita, and our favorite was the Carne Asada Empanada.
The guacamole 🥑 was my personal favorite 😍 ❤️ and my Mom really enjoyed 😉 the fresh Crema .
Both the Red and Green salsas were spicy and scrumptious 😋 😍 😜 👌
We got our order to go & had a feast at home 🏡 😋
We will dine-in 🍽 next time
I'd like to try the Torta and the Mexican Hamburger 🍔 😋

I ordered a birria taco plate and carne asada burrito. 10/10 on both! Super delicious. Definitely coming back!

Edit: Changed my 5 star to 2 star because it says they are open till 8. I ordered food on the phone around 7:00 and drove 30 minutes just for them to already be closed at 7:30. Please update your hours

As a Dasher I haven't tried the food yet. I can speak on the service and atmosphere. The staff are always so nice and food is always already in timely manner . Dining area is lovely and comfortable.

My partner and I love finding local restaurants with charm and amazing food, and El Sombrerete did not disappoint! Delicious meals, very attentive waitress who was very patient with our lack of Spanish. They also have great drinks!
