Great little locals spot - tourists beware of the waitlist on busy nights. Got on the waitlist at 11:15pm and was told there were 12 groups in front of us. For a Saturday night in a tiny bar that seemed fair, so we waited nearby. Then it’s 12:30, so we call and are told there is 1 group in front of us. We wait outside and notice 2 groups get seated in front of us. They seem to know the bouncer, and get ushered in. Once we were reluctantly let in around 12:45, we get a drink, and shortly after hear the staff talking about us. Not exactly welcoming, and I wish that they simply told us there was no room for us that night.

Great workers. Brenda was bartendering, she so adorable, awesome and genuine that I want to visit ABQ again. Drinks I had were perfectly mixed with. Place is cozy and small, bathrooms are nice and well kept. Vibes were fun and people were open to talking and laughter.

Nice guy at the front door getting our IDs but very disappointing experience trying to gain access for a cocktail. A slender, soft-spoken young man told us there was a waitlist. 25 minute wait he said. Then he told us that we couldn't wait in the store and to come back in about 10 minutes. When I came back he said, again, there was a waitlist, motioned to 2 new people who just came in. I reminded him that I was just there and he told us to come back. He asked what name it was under and I told him he never asked for any information from me, even though I suggested earlier that I give him my phone number so he could text me when room was available. I told him that his tone and complacency made me and my date feel unwelcome and he said he speaks to everyone that way. All we wanted was to enjoy a cocktail and patronize the establishment. I felt my ire and discontent growing and thought it was best to just leave. Very unfriendly person to say the least.

This place in downtown Albuquerque is a total vibe! This cozy hideaway with its black-and-white checkered walls, hums with lively chatter and exceptional service! The password entry adds a fun touch. The San Francisco Pisco punch was a revelation - perfectly blending spicy and fruity notes. For an unforgettable night, Founders is the place to be.

Was going to be my first time there went on a Tuesday and on the wed site it advertised does not close UNTIL 2! 2 yet when I got there at 1159 the door man said they were closed and was extremely unprofessional about it. So false advertising.
