In the mood for plantains, @google AI led us to Havana Restaurant, a highly savory restaurant located in a very unassuming strip mall. Hubby got chicken, and I pork platters with plantains (my soul food) and rice and beans. Everything was so flavorful. Also, we tasted "Ironbeer" a nonalcoholic soda that reminded me of Sicilian Chinotto. The dining room and bathroom were immaculate and the waitress was sweet as a button (I got my meal based on her recommendation). Definitely a 5/5! We will return at some point #gourmetrecovery #saturday #albuquerquerestaurant

A friend is having a gathering in May with Cuban food as a theme. So we decided to learn about Cuban cuisine. My first visit to this lovely restaurant. Clean, with good lighting. Friendly staff and good service. A nice menu with many choices. We opted to try iconic Cuban foods, so we went with shredded beef (ropas viejo) and Cuban chicken fricasee. Sides including rice, black beans and fried sweet plantanos. We split a flan for desert. The chicken was tender and tasty, literally "melt in your mouth" with potatoes in the broth. The rice was delicate, fluffy. Loved the plantanos. The flan: as good as it gets. Prices are very reasonable. Ambience is pleasant, with interesting dolls adorning the space. All in all, a delightful and delicious learning experience for us.

Server was great. Cuban sandwich was good, but not quite like Miami or Ybor City...needed more garlic butter, perhaps. The fried ribs were tasty, if not very rich. A MOJO sauce or something like chimichurri would have made them more exciting. All on all enjoyed.

I adore this little place. The food is off the charts. If you come to Albuquerque you can't miss here. Get the Iron Beer. Best soda you will ever have. Don't miss the specials. The chicken fricassee is to die for. There's also a yummy shrimp dish. You can tell we are hooked on this place.

Excellent food and service. Reminds me of being in Miami. A taste of Cuba in Albuquerque.

Food was utterly fantastic and the interior does not reflect what it looks like on the outside. The people were just as sweet as can be that waited on us and you should really go for a Cuban experience.

Gorgeous restaurant inside with great ambiance. The food was amazing. Best Cuban sandwich ever! It was so good and the portion was large. It was also fairly cheap compared to other places we've been to. We also got the fried plantains which were perfect. They were the perfect ripeness, slightly crunchy on the outside with the perfect hint of sweetness, and not stringy at all. I also tried the mango milkshake and it was so good. The Cuban coffee was also very good. The woman who served us was very sweet and we were served very quickly. The only thing that's a bummer is that they close at 6 pm so you have to get there before "normal" dinner time. Overall, great experience and we will definitely be back!
