I’ve been going to this Japanese Kitchen since I was a small child. I took my wife out for a birthday dinner. Noted it when we made the reservation, even saw it in the notes on the reservation sheet. Even saw it noted in the “chefs” card. Nothing special desert no flaming sing song..nothing. My main beef is that the “chef” was boring as hell! No special tricks no fire balls…no showmanship. I could have got hungover and gathered the family around the black stone and made a better show. The other tables were having a ball and the chefs were throwing down fun times all around us. Our just sucked bad. We still had fun cause we were celebrating. Hope yall can find a replacement for the caveman with no personality

Wonderful place to celebrate with a small party (9 or less) any more than nine they have to split the party to two tables.

I just had a great lunch at the JAPANESE KITCHEN. It’s always truly great food and great entertainment watching the cooks. Do their thing as they cook the meal. I’ve been going there for a whole lotta years way back to when it was in Winrock, which was probably 30 years or more and the food has always stayed at a high-quality level it’s always been a good place to get a really tender fillet because they have a great meat supplier and it’s always very tender

Had a group business lunch at this restaurant. This is what I call brown food. Mostly starch meat and oil. Yes there were some fresh vegetables but they were mostly water type or starch. Straight off the delivery truck maybe out of the freezer. Nothing extraordinary to experience. A shocking amount of butter for a Japanese inspired dish.

Still the best! Used to come here for my birthdays when I was a kid. Food is exactly the same, still amazing. You can still get a fruit boat, a Japanese birthday song and a Polaroid on your birthday. Teriyaki chicken and shrimp is the best. Husband loved his steak. Great Tempura. Amazing service.

Restaurant is all right, restrooms are in need of tlc. Waiters are worth the tip. Food is in my opinion not up to price. My resume: not my first choice for hibachi.

Always love coming here every time I’m in town! Great customer service, great cooks, and most of all great atmosphere!
I suggest getting the Teriyaki New York Strip steak, Teriyaki Salmon with fried rice.
I always love their appetizer of a small bowl of broth before your meal, great way to cleanse your palate before you eat great food!
Also can’t forget the entertainment from the cooks!

I want to state that the food was mediocre at best. To top it all off, when our YOUNG waitress came by, she carded all of us. Thats fine - do your job. BUT, my 85 year old mother's ID was expired and she refused her a glass of wine! THE WOMAN IS CLEARLY 85!!! I asked the manager to step in and he wouldnt. I will NEVER go back to this place. Officially on my banned list. No hard feelings because as I said, the food was....MEH

We went there today Saturday, Aug 9 for a bday lunch for my grandson at 130. We wanted teppan. We got there 5 min late due to not finding the parking lot. Server did not know anything about the lunch menu we asked about. The chef did not have interaction w any of us. I still have him a tip for cooking. We didn't get served until 230. The table next to us was celebrating a birthday & got a song in Japanese & a treat. We got nothing. We did take our own cupcakes which we still shared w the sever & busser. The experience there was bad. The service was bad all around. We will not be going back.
