Have been here three times now and each time has been a wonderful experience. They are always very friendly and welcoming. The food has been excellent each time as well. I look forward to my next visit!

Unfortunately very disappointed with the experience. The pulled pork was very dry and lacked flavor. The baked potato was just that. The most disappointing item was the green chili Mac and cheese. It is a $2 upgraded and it was the most plastic like cheese. The artificial and chemical flavor was so strong even with the barbecue sauce I was unable to finish it.

1st time eating here and will certainly be the last. Whilst the restaurant is clean and staff are very pleasant. The same can't be said for the food. Brisket was dry, coleslaw was average, and the fries tasted like they used the same fryer for everything. The biggest disappointment was the ribs. At least 75% of each rib was fat, hardly any meat, and tasted very bland.

The restaurant offers a clean and inviting atmosphere, which is reflected in the quality of the food. The ribs were perfectly tender, and the two BBQ sauce options provided a nice variety. I particularly enjoyed the spicier sauce, as it delivered a more robust flavor. The mac and cheese was exceptional and alone made the visit worthwhile. However, the brisket was slightly underwhelming, as it was served a bit cold. With proper heating, I’m confident it would have matched the quality of the other dishes. Overall, a solid experience with a few minor adjustments needed.

I just got a loaded baked potato with Brisket worst thing I had in a long time This was my second time going there I don't think I'm ever gonna go back It's right across the street from my house so if they was good this will be the perfect setup? There's really not a lot of passion in people's cooking nowadays they just throw stuff together , And hope that some dumb person comes along and buy it like myself

Potato salad was kind of a weird mash potatoes . I got one potato that wasn’t cooked in the mashed parties
Potatoes. My mom and brother had the same plate . We all agreed everything was flavorless and cold . Only two people in this place on a Saturday night .
Won’t be back

Easily the best BBQ in Albuquerque. This is Oklahoma style, which keeps excellent texture in the meat (rather than the mushy stuff you see at most places in town).
The pulled pork and brisket are excellent, try them with the in-house red chile BBQ sauce. You will not be disappointed.
The green chile Mac is to die for, and the okra is kept crisp and crunchy.
Tl;dr Absolutely wonderful, definitely give this place a try.

If you're like me and love "SPARE RIBS" (not little baby backs or half size St. Louis style), but yes, the full length pork ribs, then you gotta try J's! They're tender, juicy, fall-off-the-bone with a plastic fork ribs, Oklahoma BBQ style... ummm and delicious, full of succulent smoky flavor... can't wait to go back! There's a new BBQ sheriff in town and his name is J's VarBQ!...

The gal working there was very pleasant. It was recommended to me but I was disappointed with the bbq meats. It continues the narrative that genuine bbq is almost non existant in ABQ. The cherry cobbler was good.

This BBQ is one of the best I have tried in Albuquerque!! The two amazing ladies that worked Thursday at 11am on October 10th (didn’t get their names) were absolutely so diligent and patient to explain and provide great customer service!!
