Nice little spot at The San Mateo shopping center. I stopped by and ordered the caldo de res, but the beef had this weird aftertaste that was a bit of a downer - maybe it was the seasonings or the beef itself, I'm not sure. Usually, caldo de res is all about a clear broth with some carrots, calabaza squash, potatoes, cilantro, and beef shank, Still, it was tasty enough. And our server Lorena was warm, friendly, and made sure everything was ok .
It's a tiny place but the food was fantastic. We had carne asada tacos, Al pastor tacos and shared a green Chile chicken tamale. We placed on order for a dozen tamales for a get together a few weeks later. I'm hoping our family is just as happy as we were. The people were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good but not too amazing! My daughter had the combo plate that was better than mine. Ladies were welcoming but it was only two and they were slammed it being balloon fiesta weekend. They talk back and forth to each other very loud which doesn’t make the atmosphere inviting to dine in. Very pricey.
