Chapter 1: The Bosque BetrayalIn the mystical land of the Bosque, where spokes whisper secrets and handlebars dream of freedom…Me (monologuing): “Verily, my trusty steed’s chain hath seized like a medieval drawbridge stuck halfway. 'Tis a dire situation, my fellow pedal knights!”Riding Buddy #1 (stroking beard): “Fear not, noble traveler! To Kickstand Bike Shop we ride, where the air smells of WD-40 and broken dreams.”Chapter 2: The Shop of Two FacesAt Kickstand Bike Shop, where the sign reads, “Abandon hope, all ye who enter here”…Front-of-House Guy (with a twirl of his invisible mustache): “Greetings, weary wanderer! What ailment plagues your velocipede?”Me: “My chain, good sir! It yearns for liberation. An 11-speed chain, if you please.”Front-of-House Guy: “Aye, 10-15 minutes hence, your chain shall be reborn! But first, a riddle: Why did the bicycle fall over? Because it was two-tired!”Chapter 3: The Mechanic’s MonologueIn the shadowy repair stand, where ancient bike manuals gather dust…Mechanic (stroking his pigtail braids, which are surprisingly real): “Behold! The rear cassette, worn like a jester’s jest. Shall we replace it?”Me (desperate): “Nay, kind sir! I seek only a chain, not a full bike exorcism.”Mechanic: “Fear not, for I must converse with an ebike-riding heathen. He demands tubeless tires, as if riding on air! Meanwhile, your bike languishes, like a forgotten side quest.”Chapter 4: The StandoffMe, 45 minutes later, fuming, eyeing my neglected bike, which now contemplates its own life choices…Me: “Front-of-House Guy, I tire of waiting. I shall ride forth, chainless but resolute. Tell the mechanic: ‘Thou art a procrastinating velocipede whisperer.’”Front-of-House Guy (whispering back): “I shall relay your message, brave soul. But beware, for the mechanic’s monologues can bend time itself.”Chapter 5: The Douchebag MonologueIn the final act, where bike grease mingles with existential dread…Mechanic: “Verily, chain replacement without full overhaul? 'Tis folly! The gods of bike maintenance frown upon such half-measures. Also, I ran out of coffee filters.”Me (storming out): “Listen here, wrench-wielding Socrates! I needed a chain, not a TED Talk. Fare thee well, Kickstand Bike Shop! May your spokes forever spin in circles.”******Aside: to be fair, Kickstand has been there for my bicycle gang on many occasions, this time notwithstanding. At the end of the day, I wish that the mechanic today wasn't such a jerk, and that he had just done what I asked, even if it wasn't what he considered "worth his time"... after all I just needed a chain to get home.

I finally got a bicycle has electric features for black Friday I get to drive it home tomorrow. I’m super excited. If you want a new electric bike, this is the best place to go.

The employees were very friendly and my coffee was delicious. I will be back. Plus it's conveniently located in the same building as the cycle store and repair shop.

I feel bad for the 2 that were working when wife and I came on our first visit they were being trained and trying to deal with the rush they had. They were both super apologetic which they didn't have to do. I do wish they had more food options other than the stuff from chocolate maven. Maybe of they added some parfait or avocado toast or even oatmeal would be a little bit better of variety.

Cyclists and coffee. Where you find one you'll more than likely find the other. Kickstand Cafe has one of the best locations which is nearly across the street from the Alameda Open Space parking lot. It's great to run over and grab a coffee before, during, or after your ride. For me, it's a great halfway point. I enjoy a cup of coffee or a latte before making my way back home. The cafe is very charming and comfortable inside. The dessert case always looks amazing. I haven't explored the rest of their menu. Just caffeine for me, please. There is plenty of outdoor seating. The folks working inside are always really friendly. Even when they are obviously overwhelmed. They crank out orders with a smile. There's also a bike shop attached. I haven't had to use it yet, but it's nice to know it's there. They open at 8, which might be kinda late for those of use trying to get a ride in before the temperature rises. I really dig this place. Besides being extremely convenient, it's a great place to hang out.

I wanted to like this place.Everything I ordered they were out of. My mocha took 30 min. My husband ordered decaf Americano sadly after a long wait out of that too. There were dishes piled all over the counters. It seems maybe understaffed not sureIt could be a hot bicycle spot for folks on a Sunday.

We saw this cafe near the Alameda Bosque bicycle trail and knew we had to try it. The staff is very friendly. Pastries and quiches are delicious, and quiches come with a side salad that is very fresh. They serve an assortment of breakfast sandwiches, lunch items and desserts that look divine, too - so we’ll be back. The cold brew coffee and herbal teas are great.Wheelchair accessibility: No steps to enter from parking lot and large single-stall bathrooms.

Angela was one of the sweetest, quickest and attentive baristas I've met in the state of New Mexico, I'm definitely coming back for more delicious coffee and good customer service.

Didn't live up to the hype in other reviews. It took about half an hour to get our food and I thought it was mediocre at best. I had the bacon, egg, and cheese breakfast sandwich and was pretty disappointed. It was pretty bland and came with a whole bunch of mayo on it - would've liked to have seen that listed in the ingredients on the menu so I could've ordered it without (not a mayo hater, but for me it was too much/unexpected/unwanted). My friend had a breakfast burrito that came out with what looked like Pace salsa and canned green chile. That might fly outside of New Mexico, but I feel like they need to step up their game. With so many good chile and salsa options locally, it's pretty disappointing. Sad because the location is great, especially if you're on a bike (right off the bosque trail). If I came back, I'd probably stick to pastries and coffee. Service was friendly but was hoping for more food wise. Coffee was good. Bike in coffee is worlds better (IMO) if you're looking for a cafe directly off the bike path. I'd give Kickstand Cafe 2.5 stars if that was an option.
